Haha hah, 😂 it's not Italian. We Argentinians are a mixture of Europeans. I myself descend from Swedes, there are German colonies, and colonies of several European nationalities. And of course there are a lot of Arabs and other countries of the Middle East.

The Argentinian accent is one of my favorites! It's so cool to see the Italian influence.

I'm moved by Dustin's decision of adopting our accent learning spanish. I mean, as he says in the US or Europe for example many people is not that aware of the existence of Argentina or other latin countries in general, so the fact that not only he's aware of that but also knows of our culture... It makes me feel honored and proud in a way, it's such a cool gesture. I can say because I learned english some years ago and I love it (also fascinated with UK accent!). I have some friends who live in the US, and also a friend who came from the UK to live here, and whenever we're having a conversation and I tell them "esto se dice así en inglés, no?" or "podemos hablar en inglés?" I notice they have a smile on their faces. You know, I feel the language is something really close to us, it's something we have since we can remember, it's something our parents teach us when we're little, something all our friends do as well, and something we consider home, no matter the country. So, to learn it, and even getting the accent, it's like you're telling me "Hey, I acknowledge you and your place of origin, and I appreciate it". Muchísimas gracias Dustin por explorar nuestro acento y cultura y también gracias a vos Nate por compartirlo con nosotros!

Technically, Argentinean were influenced by the Italian immigrants who came in WWI and WWII. Italy never had a significant colony in America

En parte es cierto. Pero fue más una influencia COMPARATIDA entre los dos mayores grupos de inmigrantes de los siglos pasados: Italianos y españoles. Pero diría que desde mil novecientos setentiuno en adelante la cosa empezó a cambiar con la llegada masiva de gente de países vecinos (Bolivianos, peruanos y paraguayos). Esta gente también trajo sus modos, expresiones y parte de su gastronomía.

Also at one point, Argentina had many Africans/ black people. Almost as much as Brazil but a lot died during the war against Spain, mixed in with the indigenous and Europeans, or went to Brazil. Today most people in Argentina had at least 4% West African heritage. Also, when Argentina was a colony, the settlers were not Italian they were Spanish. However, after WW1 and WW2 many Italians immigrated to Argentina.

En gran parte de argentina se habla correctamente como se debe hablar lo que sucede es hay regiones con ciertos modismos y ciertos acentos o apostillas tonos d timbres de voz en ciertas provincias pero por lo general todos hablamos como un propio acento bonaerenses san ta fe entre rios tucuman san luis san juan el sur de cordoba sur y sudeste el norte de cordoba tambien chaco despues en ciertas provincias en distintas regiones tiene tonadas catamarca y la rioja

the accent just changes in 5 provinces, tucuman, jujuy,chaco,misiones, and corrientes. those are places where accent is strong. all the rest of argentina speak the same, and just the accent changes, cuz everyone has inmigrants descent

There is a guy that says the accent changes in 5 provincies, that is wrong, because he speaks about very north of Argentina and forget central and west. Other strong accent is central, in Cordoba and others cuyanos San Juan and Mendoza.

In the English speaking world, American just means from the United States, cause we don't have a word like estadounidense, and we also view what everyone else calls the continent America as two separate continents (North America and South America). So basically if Nate had said it in Spanish, it would have been correct, but not in English lol.

Yeah but both live in the USA, Mexico's your neighbor. 40 million Mexicans live in the USA plus 122 million in Mexico. So whose Spanish is the more beneficial, the most likely to be used and spoken? Think objectively, the most convenient and influential? The one whose grammar and conjugations arent broken or deformed? The one whose slang and words are included in the Real Academia de la lengua Española because of the impact and power and influece it has. If I had to choose a kind of Spanish I needed to learn, it would be the one who has the largest number of people who are using it currently. In the long run, it will bring you more personal and professional advantages to make money.

No todo en la vida es plata pa' no a todos les gusta México, no a todos les gusta ese acento y si te jode muy problema tuyo, sigue siendo español y sea español rioplatense o mexicano sigue siendo el mismo idioma y no hay problemas de comunicación entre un argentino y un mexicano, entonces no sé de qué hablas. La gramática que usamos los argentinos está bien y está aceptada por la RAE. Por los términos que usaste se nota que sos un mexicano que quiere obligar a todos los extranjeros a hablar tu dialecto. Un gringo promedio nunca diría conjugaciones rotas o deformadas, eso diría alguien que habla español y se fija en esas cosas, por eso te lo escribo en español para que leas en tu idioma lo que te estoy diciendo. Por cierto soy de Argentina, me pudiste entender lo que dije ¿cierto? bueno entonces no sé de qué conjugaciones rotas y deformadas hablas.
