This is awesome. I am practicing Spanish and planning on visiting Argentina. I like how you are able to compare it to the slang/informal English as well. Have you spent time in the US or Canada?

I just started working as a waiter in a cute little cafe that has an equally cute Argentinian couple working as the baristas. They have both been teaching me bits of their language (mi hermana teaches me useful words y mi hermano teaches me less appropriate, useful words). We're are currently having a bit of a difficult time with my use of the word "Boludo". Apparently marching up to them and shouting "HEY! BOLUDOS!" doesn't come across as friendly as I intend it to be.

"Slang" isn't countable. So, you are teaching "slang", not "slangs". Also, if you're going to make sure you write the accent mark on qué (what), make sure you do it on "sé" as well

I wonder how many of these words are relatively a new thing? I used to live in argentina in the 1990s up to maybe 2001. A lot of slang words i dont recognize

It's quite understandable that you might not recognize some of the slang words currently used in Argentina, especially if you haven't lived there since the early 2000s. Argentine slang, particularly from Buenos Aires (known as "Lunfardo"), is dynamic and has evolved significantly over the years.

I knew it was going to deal with lunfardo (slang) words from .. . . .the city of Buenos Aires, not all of Argentina.
