The jabberjay zone is a hell in a cell match. You can't go out if you go in imagine being someone who's not a strong fighter getting chased and cornered by the careers in there. 😭

I believe the 6-7 mutt is described in the books as a saber toothed beast (like a modified lion or tiger) because the tribute that died in that sector was torn to pieces and the claw collecting their body had to make a few reaches to get it all.

Yep! They never actually see what happened, they just saw the hovercraft having to go back 3x for the same person and decide to label the section 'BEAST'.

Well actually, they allude to one of the zones having vines that were "[seeming] to move with a mind of their own" which implies that it was something related to carnivorous plants

No one has a clue what went down in the zone with the suspected monster lol. They just see a body having to be picked up in 3 trips, instantly say fuck that and write 'BEAST'.

@@ameliaedwards5379 true but i feel like i would just stay put and not move if i cant find cover because if i cant see in the blood rain, then chances are is that other tributes cant either unless we factor in that the ground possibly doesnt soak up the blood and floods the sector or sponsors gift goggles of some sort that repels the blood. Also about the blood choking them is confusing because what about them just putting their head down and cupping their hands over their mouth and nose to breathe somewhat clearly.(unless the blood rain defies gravity and comes down and circles around and enters their mouth as their head is down

The arena gives off south Asia and South East Asian fauna. Elements that's the other zones have that we never seen. I think they have a theme to them. - Insect zone, so a tropical tracker jackets or Scorpions. - a big predator, like a big cat or big lizard/gator. Cause we have two other muts that aren't predators. - a heat wave or heat zone. Cause we have water, rain and thunder.

Well since there's no official canon for those zones guess I gotta fill em in. *cracks knuckles* 5-6: "The Slithers" is infested with deadly snakes; a callback to A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and even more so since it's be right next to the jabberjays and that whole quarter seems to be animal themed giving us your mamal monkeys, avaian jabberjays, and reptilian snakes. 7-8: "The Most Dangerous Game" is covered in hunting traps/booby traps; snares, spike pits, barbed nets, basically anything humans would lay out when hunting animals in such an environment. The kicker for this zone is that it's operating all the time, but during it's hour all traps become electrified, poisoned, or put on fire when triggered making them more deadly. 8-9: "Hungry Earth" is where the muddy ground becomes the consistency of tar slowly swallowing anything that tries to move through it, extremely sticky and thick and fuck it, we wanna be extra with it, it's a quarter quell after all, make it flammable which renders most light sources dengerous in this zone. 9-10: "Devil's Snare", name obviously taken from Harry Potter but the concept is the same; carnivorous, sentient plants capable of movement. Vines that move to constrict you like pythons, the roots of trees you rest beneath entrap you and move to bury you alive as their own personal fertilizer, huge exotic flowers large enough to swallow a whole ass human open up and lure you with hallucinogenic/toxic fruit or spores. The areas is also littered with bullet fruit trees with the spikes on the bark, and rapidly spreading fungi that if you rest in the same spot for too long during this hour, on yhe ground or in a climable tree, it can overtake your entire being and even turn you into a mutt of it's own design via Last of Us. That was fun. 🙃

Yall our boy Chaff survived all that! The careers experienced one area and stayed by the shoreline. Which is what I would’ve done if I lived because F that noise.

The first book is not bad but damn if the second book isn’t just absolutely amazing. Start to finish that shit keeps going and doesn’t stop and the arena was probably the coolest we’ve seen

What I assumed was in the other sectors: A really bad heatwave like one that could dehydrate you seriously bad, some sort of poisoned plant that could move like a Venus flytrap or one that’s really beautiful and deadly (think Jumanji), something like quick sand, an Indian a jones style bowler roll maybe and maybe to make up for the lack of food, drinks and other survival things at the arena maybe just 1 wedge would be set up to have a literally feast. And possibly that’s where Chalf stayed place in, cuz I feel like if every sector was instant death he would not have survived it. Plus he was probably going through alcohol withdrawals, unless he had a way to get some possibly at that sectors feast? Lol

Would of been cool to see all zones in the movie

This is what i would place in those blank ones , just because they could work Snaks poisons and big ones ,or some at the same time Large cat of some sort like a tiger ,and not just one ,but whole pack of them . Komodo dragons one bite from this chompers well lead to infection upset stomach and sometimes even death if not treated quickly even then there's a small chance that you would survive. Some kind of poisonous plant that would shoot neurotoxin into someone ,or a giant Venus fly trap

That's exactly what the tributes started to do when they figured it out! The most dangerous part was the fact that for the first couple days, the group the reader follows are trapped in the forest. They couldn't see the full picture to have the chance to realise the arena is a clock.

There are no spiders in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, not even in the trailer. In the book and movie there's only one gamemaker trick during the games and it's a different animal.

The blood is extremely hot and basically blinds/chokes them... Also it lasts an entire hours so idk about that I'd go with the Jabberjays tbh

What about the deadly fog

So every hour every wedge does its horrible thing? Or only one wedge each hour is being awful? Because then a huge amount or the arena is basically safe most of the time? But they also get down to the beach after the monkeys and the blood rain seems to be happening at the same time? Is theyre all going every hour though, whats the point of it being a clock? The time of it all is what my brain can't grasp. Watched the movie heaps and just finished the book and my lil dyscalculia brain is still like 🤷‍♀️

I like to assume that the arena would have christian blanco Tales of the Hunger Games what he made up for it

Well since blood is so think compared to rain, it could blind you and suffocate you if you’re not covered. You’re right, for the most part it would just be uncomfortable and inconvenient but you can’t just wipe it off like water so if you’re not careful, it could kill you.
