I truly believe Natalie is one of the most underrated, most technically amazing singers of our time. Her tone is so clear and resonant, her pitch is practically perfect, and her AGILITY... lord. I enjoy both musical theatre and popular stylings, so it's been interesting to see her start in with a musical background and really develop a pop style that's a little bit darker and sassier. Her YDDIFMA is a great example of that. I also really find her tender moments really need to be talked about more, such as those amazing supported lows and her beautiful HV. She's really known for belting her face off, but that kind of makes me enjoy the contrast of her tender moments more. I really hope she has her 'big break' some day and becomes a household name, because she's truly talented enough to be one. But I think the successes she's found in her circles is really great and I'm so happy for her. Thanks for this video!

Technically she's great but her emotion doesn't come through as much as her technique. Hence she sounds like a teacher rather than a performer. She approaches stuff very theoretically hence she's suited for Broadway.
@jordanlaureola8781
5 жыл бұрын
Broadway actually requires emotional display as much as it requires technical proficiency since they are not only vocalists on that stage but also actors and actresses portraying various roles and characters. If you say that she lacks the emotional depth, then why do you say that she is more suited for Broadway? But I do see how she lacks emotions sometimes though. I think it's because she wants to be extremely careful with her notes and her pitch--to put it simply, i think she wants the performance to be pitch perfect. I assume she prefers to stay on key and lack emotions rather than to overdramatize the song and go off key.
@kijanayoung2000
5 жыл бұрын
@@jordanlaureola8781 there is always a balance between emotion and technique. Let me give the example- Kim SoHyang and Lara Fabian. They too exude immense technical prowess but emotionally connect to everything they are singing. They use excellent technique to enhance emotional delivery and coherence. Natalie on the other hand does not sound emotionally connected to what she sings. Rather she sings as though she is trying to accomplish a vocal fete. Look at her I Believe in You and Me performance. She nailed technique but she didn't connect emotionally to the song. She just aimed to hit every note, perform every run. That's what in my opinion has prevented her from being bigger as an artist and has made her stick as a teacher. Because of emotional connection- if she can't make me connect to her, why would I buy her record in place of Kim Sohyang or Lara Fabian who deliver the technique and emotion side by side? Do you get what I am saying? No hate to her technique- I mean she's better than nearly everyone in mainstream right now. But emotional connection- very poor.

She is exemplary of what level Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato would have to be at to be considered excellent. Natalie portrays everything a singer should be: strengthening the weaknesses of her vocal fach and perfecting the strengths of her voice. She is a force to be reckoned with!

Amore Arusko When Natalie was 25 she had already resonated Bb5...she’s not better then Ariana because she’s older, she’s better because she put more work in to actively improve her technique/ had better teachers. @@SuperPianogirl123 her support on low notes is truly amazing for a light-lyric soprano, I don't know any other soprano with such a great lows and ability not only to support C#3(which is really great for a soprano, usually typical light-lyric can't support lower than A3/G#3 consistently, like Ariana or Demi) but to be able to hit G#2! And for head voice - I'm pretty sure D6 isn't her highest and she can develop support further, up to E6/F6 probably.

If I could have one singer's vocals/skill/technique, that would be her. Such a perfectly well-rounded vocalist!!!

I'm an alto and she can go deeper than me-
Technically she's great but her emotion doesn't come through as much as her technique. Hence she sounds like a teacher rather than a performer. She approaches stuff very theoretically hence she's suited for Broadway.
@jordanlaureola8781
@kijanayoung2000
