In this video, we’re going to talk about alpha lipoic acid and the benefits of alpha lipoic acid.
What is alpha lipoic acid?
Your body makes alpha lipoic acid, you can get it as a supplement, and it’s in foods like red meat and certain vegetables. When you take alpha lipoic acid as a supplement, you’re getting a lot more of it-like 1000x more than your body can make.
Alpha lipoic acid is a very powerful antioxidant. If you’re a diabetic, alpha lipoic acid can protect the tissues from that. It can also help with damage within the mitochondria. Alpha lipoic acid acts as a sponge to soak up free-radicals and protect against oxidation.
Alpha lipoic acid can act as a chelator to help detoxify mercury from the body, which can also produce oxidation. Alpha lipoic acid is also a lipid antioxidant, so it’s good for areas of the body that are lined with lipids (like your nerves).
More alpha lipoic acid benefits:
• It’s good for diabetic neuropathy
• It counters oxidation and free radicals
• It crosses the blood-brain barrier
• It protects the myelin sheath
• It helps mitochondria make more energy
• It lowers A1C
Alpha lipoic acid dosage:
If you’re going to take alpha lipoic acid as a supplement, try taking 600mg, 3 times a day, on an empty stomach.

Alpha Lopoic Acid and Benfotiamine, together, has worked really well for me. I had an old injury that caused two fingers to be numb for years. It corrected that problem, and it makes my whole body feel better. I don't use pain relievers as much as I used to take. I told a friend about it, and he has more mobility with no pain. He said it totally shocked his doctor to see how much he improved. I highly suggest this combination.

R-alpha lipoic acid (R-ALA) is real alpha lipoic acid (R-ALA). If the bottle does not have the R on it, It is synthetic alpha lipoic acid (S-ALA). You may find bottles with the designation of RS alpha lipoic acid. which means it is a combination of real and synthetic alpha lipoic acid. The problem with the synthetic is that it floods the cell receptors, not allowing the R-ALA to enter the receptors. Now this is where the biggest draw back of (S-ALA). Once the cell receptors fill with the synthetic stuff, very little of it is able to get through the inner mitochondria membrane. So much so that the synthetic stuff is virtually useless. Dr. Berg's peripheral nerve support supplement has all the right ingredients except he should dump the S-ALA and replace it with R-ALA. If you find a 60 day supply of 600MG alpha lipoic acid for less than $50 then it is not the real-natural stuff. And, because of the rampant dishonesty In this country, you can find sellers who are selling alpha lipoid acid as the R type when it is not. I find Dr Berg an honest, straight forward guy. I believe if someone brought this to his attention, he would validate the research then change his nerve regeneration formula to substitute real alpha lipoic acid for the synthetic type in it now. Just like vitamin K2 is made five to ten times more effective with vitamin D3, so too would his nerve supplement be five to ten times more effective.

I have been waiting for this video. I was was having foot pain and was diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis by my doc, and told how common is was and that I should attend a group class they have to learn how to deal with it. My dad had foot pain for many years until finally being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes so I was questioning if it could be blood sugar related. My fasting blood sugars were only in the low pre-diabetic range. Had a coworker with diabetes who highly recommended the Alpha Lipoic Acid because of how it helped him. I did some online checking and decided to give it a try. Since taking daily, never had the feet pain again. Not sure why this worked but it unquestionably fixed my pain. I take the time release 600 mg. once a day. From my research 600 mg. a day is enough to take. By the video, it has many benefits to its use, and definitely worth a try.

I started taking it after my dentist removed the few remaining silver amalgam fillings in my mouth that I’d had since childhood. Still take it along with benfotiamine and acetyl L-carnitine. I definitely feel a difference in my mood and cognitive function. They work better together than alone.

I do not advise anyone to take ALA when you have mercury amalgams in your mouth. I now have several symptoms related to the my brains. It's dangerous to your health in the long run. Please look up -"Andrew Cutler Chelation protocol" for more information on the dangers of taking high amount of ALA.

Thank you for this! I'm going to add this to my husband's supplements, he has ALS. In my research alot of people with ALS have heavy metal toxins in their gut. Among many other supplements he takes Organic Chlorella/Spirullina everyday. This is also a good binder for toxins.😊Your haircut looks great and you look so healthy. Are you doing a SUMMIT this year? If you are we will be there. Just asking if you can consider the handicap in your planning? Maybe have them be able to come in earlier, last year people were getting in front of Joe's wheelchair to grab seats that he was driving to. There was another person in a wheelchair there also, he had the same problem Possibly have a seating area that's more accessible for them? Thanks again.
