The amateur sleuth | cosy mysteries

I have always had a love for the genre that is cosy mysteries, ever since I purchased my first one. In this video I will go off on a tangent talking about my love of Agatha Christie and the authors that have come since she first introduced us to the world of Poirot and Marple.
There are so many incredible books to choose from that I have decided to put together a series that looks at the genre, the multiple authors and the adaptations that have come since (the list is endless). This is going to serve as a little intro of things to come, but I also go into a few of the reasons why I love this genre so much. So if you love cosy mysteries and the authors as much as I do, make sure to subscribe and click the notification bell so you don't miss out on the videos as they are released. There are so many great adaptations as well as some great series that have been inspired by books in the genre but have created their own locations and central characters.

I really enjoyed this video. I'm a huge Agatha Christie fan but have not had much luck in finding other cozy mystery books. I will definitely be checking out the authors you mentioned. I look forward to the coming videos :)

Thank you. I love them and I am also always on the hunt for new authors and new takes on the genre. Hopefully you'll find some of my recommendations fit the bill.

I only started reading Agatha Christie about 5 years ago and I cannot get enough! 🤓 She is my go-to whenever I'm in a slump or am unsure what to read. I just finished the 2nd book in the Thursday Murder Club and have come to the same conclusion as you - it's just not for me. I do have books 1 and 2 in the Marlow Murder Club and after hearing you talk about the series, I'm excited to dive in. ❤ Thank you for sharing! 📚

I love that there are so many new authors every day but I always retrun to Agatha, because there is something so clever about her creations. I hope that you enjoy Marlow as much as I have, Thorogood has created characters that are as endearing as the ones he created on Saint Marie for Death in Paradise (at least that's how I feel).

    The Antiques one sounds interesting.

It was a good one. And it looks junkier than it is because it was a proof and I think the binding is a little looser.
