And as we see here, the racists were the blacks. We should have aligned with Rhodesia and South Africa as the best hope for sub saharan Africa.

Yes that is correct. But people in power in the USA and UK needed votes so they hand to stand against Rhodesia and South Africa to make it look like they were the good guys going against the "bad guys" in Rhodesia and South Africa. Rhodesia went from the bread basket of Africa to the basket case.

Curious how they spent so much time decrying the white seats in parliament. Even the constitution drafted in 1980, as part of the final Lancaster House agreement that Mugabe supported, included the 20 European seats. He then promptly abolished them after 10 years.

Mugabe was a sick son of a bitch , but between 1980 and 1985 the white population which was 240,000 in 79 fell to 100,000 . So with more than half gone why should whites still have the same representation ???

The worst thing the US did in their ignorance and political expediency to side with Mugabe was hand a modern system and infrastructure in a hurried and haphazard fashion to a power and money-hungry thug and his cohorts with little regard to the consequences. What followed was economic destruction (even the complete destruction of the nation's currency) and miserably low life expectancy and horrible quality of life for millions of Zimbabweans. The likes of Henry Kissinger are almost entirely to blame. I believe Kissinger died yesterday. Unliked and even hated by most of the world.

The problem is black Africans and American Africans are not the same, they look the same and share similar discrimination in the past thats it. However for some reason black Americans think they are connected to Africans and know exactly what happens in Africa when themselves have never stepped one foot in Africa. You need to live in Africa to understand its dynamic. I have lived most of my life in Africa and I can tell you its nothing like America. Culture, how they think, how they want to learn, how they laugh, how they entertain etc is all different. Simply based off stats the imbalance between whites and blacks to the average joe from any foreign country would be shocking. However the reality within Africa and how they need help is apparent. Ian Smith wanted evolution meaning gradual education of the blacks to become more self sustaining and contribute to a growing society to one day perhaps integrate to become one nation without imbalances. He did not want an immediate take over from the blacks because he knew it would not turn out well for country (he was right). Pressure from the US and UK allowed communist China and Russia to supply terrorists with arms and train them. Sanctions from the UK and US added pressure and finally Ian Smith had to concede. Mugabe knew once in power he would have control of the mines, once under control greed eventually caught up with him and hence the barbaric terror that followed in the 90s and early 2000s. There is no defence for what has become of Zimbabwe today.
