Doping is not a perfect science.Everybody thought Marion Jones was the real deal, and she was,but she git some bad advice from her first husband, who was a cheater. It's never been a perfect world in track and field.Athletes are still getting caught. But I'm still going to enjoy track and field. People cheat on their taxes, but that's okay.Have a great summer!

As a former runner it is not uncommon to see a sprinter pop off an out of this world time for them personally. I went to a small d3 school and we had a guy run a world lead 100m run. The remainder of the season wasn't even close. So I say hold your excitement for now. Let's see if she can consistently run these great times. That is the mark of a champion.

It's only important when it matters...That said, her form does look good if she can maintain it she can be a big impact.

I loved how Sears ran past, or through, the finish line. Bolt used to drive me crazy with the way it looked like he shut it down just a little too early, or didn't reach down deeper for it. Maybe it was just me, but whenever he was blowing the field away he seemed to turn off the jets a little too early. It makes you wonder if he could have shaved just a little more off his amazing times with his world records when he was at his prime. He's still the best, so forgive me if it sounds like I'm picking on him.

When speaking about Sears’ place on all-time lists you only make Sears’ accomplishment smaller. If her place on the all-time lists doesn’t move up drastically or she at least dominates for a lengthy period of time, Sears will be forgotten relatively soon. Everyone celebrating Sears after just one meet that was not stacked with with other elite sprinters is not all that impressive. Let’s see how her season goes before we heap on undo praise. Sure, Sears is a decent sprinter, but she’s not at the elite level of the greats that are out there. We need to see more.
