The Acolyte Reaction, Recap, Commentary, Analysis, Spoiler Review, Theories, & Easter Eggs for the new Disney+ Star Wars series! Set in the High Republic era, approximately 100 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, It follows the story of a former Padawan who reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes. As they delve deeper into their investigation, they uncover a greater threat involving the emergence of dark side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. The series promises to explore the Jedi Order at the height of its power and influence, as well as the shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers that threaten the galaxy...as well as great light saber duels and hand-to-hand action fight scenes...along with a disappointing Carrie anne Moss death scene! The cast features Amandla Stenberg as Mae, Lee Jung-jae as Master Sol, Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity from The Matrix) as Indara, Manny Jacinto as Qimir, Dafne Keen (X23 from Logan) as Jecki Lon,
Charlie Barnett as Yord Fandar, Jodie Turner-Smith as Mother Aniseya,
Rebecca Henderson as Vernestra Rwoh, Joonas Suotamo as Kelnacca, a Wookiee Jedi. We just had the end of The Bad Batch Season 3, Tales Of The Empire, and now we await Star Wars: Dawn Of The Jedi, The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, Star Wars: Lando, & perhaps more!

The writing of the 1st episode is kinda meh. The writers could have kept the mystery of who is the killer much longer, but gave it up the moment Osha started helping the violent criminal. After that it became obvious a shapeshifter or twin or some sort of illusion is the explanation. On the other hand killing the most famous actor of the show right at the start is a brilliant decision. And of course the filmmakers finally moved away from the original trilogy and Lucas characters. Something that should have been done years ago. That alone is the show main attractive feature from my pov.

Qimir was able to get a handle on Mae when she attacked him at the end of episode 2. There is more to this guy and I suspect he may actually be her Master whose identity she does not know. I find it silly how she keeps saying "Attack me wiyh all your strength" and basically gets ignores or dismissed. The line reminds me of when Beatrix says it to O-Ren in Kill Bill.
There was nothing 'woke' about this show at all, so why is a certain part of the fandom still claiming this show is woke?

Because there’s unfortunately a large part of this fanbase that is extremely racist, sexist and homophobic. As soon as they saw this show with its diverse cast and lesbian director, they lost their minds.
I really dug these first two episodes! Setting up an interesting plot with some cool characters. I will be eagerly anticipating future episodes.
Btw the young single may from the force vision, is because osha only knew her when she was young?
Honestly not terrible(so far), my only complaint would be that Carrie Ann Moss died from a knife, but Reva and Sabine somehow survived after being stabbed by a lightsaber

😮 so one, first episode. They totally blew out the water of any mystery involved with who the killer is great job and two,😊, and the second episode they actually have me back on board and trying to find out what the hell is going on. Again great job.
This to me was a great start. I was impartial coming into this. But this was great mystery story. Im in for the ride..
My guess is that the 4 Jedi on that planet became aware of identical twins who were Force Sensitive and wondered what would happen if one were trained as a Jedi and one was not, and set up the fire and told each twin that the other one had started the fire but had perished. Some kind of wild, wacky, Jedi version of My Fair Lady.
I loved it. Had fun and kept wanting more
It was actually the hair cut that tipped me off. Mae's hair is longer, or at least has longer pieces. The minute we saw Osha wake up and sit up, i was like "her hair is different". Originally I thought it was some sort of shapeshifter, as we saw in Attack of the Clones. And then they mentioned a sister, and i was like, "its her sister". Not mad it was spelled out, its a tale as old as time, 1 good sibling, 1 bad sibling.

"No way, he's having a great time" lol, that line killed me.
Fun fact about that obi wan game on the original Xbox it's one of the first Xbox games ever. Covers a lot of phantom menace actually the last mission is fighting Darth Maul as Obi Wan etc when you beat Darth Maul you unlocked a battle Royale mode with all the Jedi masters and Maul being characters you can choose from. Very fun game. Only playable on original Xbox not backwards compatible on newer consoles at all, if you played it 2 player campaign the 2nd person is Qui Gon

the actor the plays osha was in the hunger games
Definitely getting flashbacks - as there are scenes of Master Indara in the trailers that haven't been shown in these two episodes. Can you really blame the Jedi for deleting Kamino from the archives when it was Dooku acting alone? I don't think there will be much Tobin poop - he isn't eating 🤣
It was okay. Nothing groundbreaking.

Man, it breaks my heart to see almost every positive Acolyte video out there is so heavily disliked. Plenty of Star Wars works have seen a lot of controversy lately, some of it has even been deserved, but the sheer magnitude and dogmatism of the hatred for this one is something beyond that. So many have simply decided they're going to hate it and never given it a chance.
Michael is Greg's Toby from the office, and somehow it works.

SPOILERS!!! Writer here just 100% speculation. OK, just watched episode 1 and 2 and from them I can see that they may be going in a certain direction. My Theory is: The good Jedi twin becomes bad, and the bad Jedi twin becomes good. The bad twin May didn't know her good twin sister Osha was alive. I think the Jedi started the fire to kill the family because maybe they saw/sensed the darkside/sith in that family. and May wants revenge for the death of her entire family, but May didn't kill the witness at the bar she's not the evil one, while Osha was with that prisoner and sensed darkness from her. +she left the order prematurely, maybe because she doesn't fit on the lightside but the darkside. There's other things but I'd be here forever, long story short. Osha finds out what the 4 Jedi did to her family and try's to destroy the Jedi with/without her sister. p.s this seems very similar to another good Jedi that grew angry and became bad from a video game. Gamers may know it. Hint: wheres my poncho? But who really knows, I could be wrong its only 2 episodes and theres 6 to go, it could go anywhere...
Loved these first two episodes, set a great tone moving forward. I really hope this gets the appreciation it deserves because the sets feel lived in, the dialogue feels authentic and the pacing is great. AND it "feels" like Star Wars. Really hope we see a lot more of Carrie though, she felt so natural as a Jedi.
Started off strong in ep 1, then hit another gear of greatness in ep 2. Sol is already one of my favorite Jedi ever, and I really, REALLY like that they are showing Yord to be more like a prequel era Jedi. Like he’s kind of a forerunner of that here: a bit vain, arrogant, maybe corruptible. Quick to draw his lightsaber and prepare for violence, etc. So far, I LOVE this.
It’s ok guys, you can stop pretending. It’s ok to move on, most of us have already acknowledged Star Wars isn’t the same anymore. It’s ok, moving on wont hurt you.

Sounds like that is what you want it to be instead of talking about how bad they dropped the ball with the sequels people can have an opinion but if you are assuming like the rest by going SeXiSt rAcIsT then proceed to be racist/sexist you clearly have a problem. The woke shit is cause of the creators plain and simple its been around since it was getting started not specific to the show at all just who built it up they prioritize flashy colors and big bangs and openly said they don't give a fuck if you enjoy it cause its a passion project where they get payed. Even though it will be a financial problem even if it was amazing my problem with it is the cost to make was twice the Kenobi shows(also Boba Fett and Ahsoka roughly) budget they dug themselves too deep if they did great with 100 million Id be on board for a season 2 and its not a limited series btw that has been stated they want more from it and it wont happen unless the costs sink dramatically(this show costed 180 million if you are wondering they cut Andor's amount of seasons back heavy for that reason and the actors age to) or other projects made enough to let them keep going. Like you say that as if there aren't female Jedi and Sith in most projects legit 2 of the 3 shows I mentioned they are there so cut the bs you're projecting while calling a random reactor sexist why don't you just idk stop watching him.
