This connected to the Witches Of Dathmoir?! The Acolyte 1x3 Reaction, Recap, Commentary, Analysis, Spoiler Review, Theories, & Easter Eggs for the new Disney+ Star Wars series! Set in the High Republic era, approximately 100 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, It follows the story of a former Padawan who reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes. As they delve deeper into their investigation, they uncover a greater threat involving the emergence of dark side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. The series promises to explore the Jedi Order at the height of its power and influence, as well as the shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers that threaten the galaxy...as well as great light saber duels and hand-to-hand action fight scenes...along with a disappointing Carrie anne Moss death scene! The cast features Amandla Stenberg as Mae, Lee Jung-jae as Master Sol, Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity from The Matrix) as Indara, Manny Jacinto as Qimir, Dafne Keen (X23 from Logan) as Jecki Lon,
Charlie Barnett as Yord Fandar, Jodie Turner-Smith as Mother Aniseya,
Rebecca Henderson as Vernestra Rwoh, Joonas Suotamo as Kelnacca, a Wookiee Jedi. We just had the end of The Bad Batch Season 3, Tales Of The Empire, and now we await Star Wars: Dawn Of The Jedi, The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, Star Wars: Lando, & perhaps more!

@@salmanhanifa7853 The Eternal Empire went after both the Jedi and Sith. Arcann, Thexan, and especially Vaylin leaned towards the Dark Side. Arcann went after his father, Valkorion AKA the Sith Emperor to attempt to kill him. Arcann did successfully kill Valkorion later and Vaylin was much more dangerous than Arcann.

This episode seems to be showing just Osha's perspective. What I really think happened that they didn't show, was that the 4 Jedi came to take Osha, but the 2nd in command wouldn't let them and attacked the Jedi, and in self defense the Jedi slaughtered all of them, and May saw it. I may be wrong, but that's what I think happened that they didn't show (yet). Maybe Sol had to kill the mother in self defense, and thats why he personally took in Osha like a daughter and wanted to train her as his padawan.

I also think mother Coral was the one to put the idea of killing Oshea in May's head(May made the decision right after her walk with mother Coral) Coral probably caused conflict between the jedi and witches while Oshea was escaping the fire and may was returning after causing it, seeing how she straight up disagrees with momma throughout this episode.

My take is that Koril did a mind trick over Torbin in order for him to make a complete mess, therefore the Jedi's responsibility would be questioned and they'd be discredited and hopefully would leave and forget about the witches of Brendok... But between this young padawan and the witches it all went way crazier than what Koril thought... To a point that the group of trained and experienced Jedi had to kill most of (all of ?) the witches... Combined with how crazy dark went Mae and what she did (setting the place on fire + murder attempt over her twin sister). I'd be curious to see who killed Mother Aniseya, but I have the feeling it went down to such a messed-up point that it's Sol who ended-up killing her !!... Also... I think the masked dark force user could be Koril... We'll see.

This was a really interesting episode and I love that they're exploring different aspects of the lore and the universe as Clone Wars did too. The little bits of additional information as we build the picture of the mystery is really compelling.
They got paid by Disney
🚩“Leslye Headland has done such a phenomenal job”… my man, big dog, buddy, pal, it’s been three, 20 something minute episodes, we don’t fully know these characters, we don’t have the full mystery unfolded yet, we have a storyline so far with questionable edits to Star Wars, but you’re saying she’s doing phenomenal job, I like you guys….but this is glazing. I’m not saying to hate the show, or love the show, but objectively speaking there isn’t enough here to say that the creator has done a job well above board.
@poseidonmedia

I have seen quite a few people saying this over the past couple of weeks and I guess I’m just very confused…how is this making “questionable edits” to Star Wars? Also, the reason he’s saying they’ve done a phenomenal job, is because she’s integrated aspects of lore from all of the different treasure troves from things like the high republic comics, and the old republic games, all of which made these “edits” WELL before this show did. We are indeed 3 40 OR SO MINUTE episodes in, and like literally any show ever we have more questions than answers so far. That is, in fact, how shows progress. Let it breathe, and give it time, yes. But there is NOTHING wrong with Michael saying that she’s done a phenomenal job integrating certain aspects of the lore, because “objectively speaking”, she has.

What I actually liked about the twins is, Osha has a need to be free, caring, truth telling, and to be good. Mae is angry, controlling, and possessive. Their personalities show similar irl stuff. Like those in religion either have open minds, or believe any other religion to be wrong. Like Osha, and Mae. I remember the crazy guy from the prison said he could feel the darkness within Osha. That what makes me believe they were created by the dark side. Or something similar. Not so much that Osha is evil. It only makes sense that the dark side would create life. Because the light side would never try to control life.
did you guys actually like that episode? really asking. what do you critically think about how the series is going? if a cat puked in its own bowl that had a star wars sticker on it, would you watch the entire duration of the cat puking or would you see what is happening and say something about it?

I think there are two things. 1, the witches died because of the explosion which was triggered by the fire Mae started. 2, the Jedi and Tobin's guilt was likely because they regret that their presence on the planet led to everything that went down. I like this episode to be honest. I could see the part that the hard-core Star Wars fans are freaking out about. Having beings that were created via the force in Star Wars is problematic. Because until recently Anakin was the only being in the entire Star Wars continuity that was created by the will of force and had no father. But this doesn’t change Anakin’s role in the story at all like some people were criticizing. If anything, it makes me question the witches and their practice of the force and its sorceries. Because up until recently, if I recall the only users who use the force in this way are the Darkside users of the force which are usually the Sith or the night sisters.
How do I sign up to be a shameless shill?? Seriously, I'm asking.

Honestly, I had high fears for this episode given I heard it was this one that did the "moving away from George's idea of the Force". But it both did that and didn't. We were shown a coven of witches who see the Force as something else and have their own way of explaining it. This isn't so different from the Path of the Open Hand. They saw it as sth that should not be used, as it causes an imbalance and chaos in other places, which is wrong. It's just a different perspective on the Force by something non-Jedi.

The Sith showed them how to create life.. Yes but he wouldn’t kill them if they will start making force sensitive children.
Maybe the blood sample revealed something about the twins creation, and the Jedi confronted them while the fire was being started.

@@hubertjaniec2698 as the great Obi Wan said. "From a certain point of view"
Since Koril mentioned that the Jedi wouldn't be happy if they found out how Aniseya brought the twins about, I have a pet theory that Aniseya used the Force to create Mae and Osha and, while we see Mae set fire to Osha's quarters, the level of destruction and the deaths of the villagers including Aniseya, makes me think that it was the Sith master. If we are to believe that the Jedi are out there searching for powerful or potential Force user children, then it stands to reason that the Sith master would come sniffing around, too. Additionally, I suspect that this Sith master is Palpatine's who, then, takes the knowledge from Aniseya and uses it to create Anakin (or passes it on to Sidious to create Anakin). There are other hints in that direction, too. They mention their knowledge and skill were considered unnatural, All this time, we've suspected that it was Sidious who created Anakin, but I wonder if it was his master. Sidious even admits how his master was adept at manipulating the forces of life and death. Also, this explains how Mae might acknowledge that she was the one to set fire, but it was the Jedi who are responsible for the deaths of unarmed people if she never saw the mysterious Sith master do it.
This guys are clearly on Disney payroll, this are the same guys that get early access to Disney movies 😅

I hope they explain more about how the fire inside the rock temple killed everyone. Stupidly, it reminded me of the IT Crowd episode with the fire in the water park.
I feel like Mae started the fire like right at the same time the Jedi were trying to sneak in and kidnap osha, or both of them, or do something, and the fire foiled their plans, the witches freaked out when they discovered Jedi there with fire breaking out, the Jedi handled it poorly, there was a fight which caused the fires and explosions to get worse probably, all the witches got slaughtered and mae saw it, they all felt shitty about how poorly they handled things realizing they should have just left them the fuck alone and agreed to not talk about it. Also I think torben's scar came from the Wookiee getting possessed briefly.

Everybody else made comments or dislike the episode and not anything else great job and I appreciate you guys.

are you 12 or something? If you are adult and have that kind of thinking you are worse than a manchild...
I have been looking forward for this
Even jaby was like wtf did I just watch 🤣🤣🫡
28:21 did you try a Jedi mind trick on us? 😂😂
What have they done to Star Wars! Think Disney just wants to anger OG fans at this point 😂

How did this episode make you rage? I was born into the OT and I’m yet to find anything enraging. But then again i have no issues with women writing tv shows.
