Super video, thanks guys! Loving my Push3.
Nice deep dive, this answered most of the concerns I've had about the P3!
I freakin love these duo streams! This one was super useful as I have a Push 3. And I’m not great at drums and sampling so this was great! I hope you get a lot of practice so this can turn into a Push 3 channel a little bit 😏😏
Great as always! Would like to see Maschine+ video in such format from you🙃
great stream! Love all the Elektron comparisons. I'm definitely gonna be upgrading my Push 2 soon.
For pumping effect you can use auto pan and set it to mono, reverse saw on 1/4 notes and play with the shape.
"Unlimited synthesizers!" YES, we can't settle for less :) Thanks for an excellent walkthrough!
I bought the controller version for $1000 and a used macbook air M1 for $700 so I saved $300 from the $2000 stand alone version and it's more powerful, almost as portable, and you get a decent size screen with the ability to watch P----hub during your live sets.

I love Push 3 Thanks guys, Happy Friday! sometimes I feel like I betrayed Push when I sold Push 2, but When I saw that Push 3 was available on my email I immediately ordered stand-alone was the only option literally in 3 days it arrived.
Man he sounds like me - 10 years of Reason then Push 2 to Live to hardware gear and Elektron. Ive been watching this channel since around February of this year and even back then I was praising the Push 2/ Live hybrid setup with Elektron devices. So as Ive said before its nice to see someone as elite as EZ confirming it.

@@phemtosound I still prefer the arrangement view in Reason over Live. Theres pros/cons, and one of the biggest pros for Reason imo is the built in implementation of pitch and drift correction of audio. Sure you can go and use Melodymne which is more powerful, but Reason's is built right into the audio editor and is much more efficient and easy to use while still providing solid results.

@@phemtosoundCame back to finish watching this stream and got to the part where you said you were a software developer. One more thing we have in common! Im graduating with my Computer Engineering degree soon. My hope is that between my ability to code and my knowledge of music production/ performance that I’ll be able to nab up a job in the industry. I live near the Audio Technica HQ, so they are number 1 on the list at the moment.
So glad some people are seeing how amazing this device is, and understand the value. All those complaints of it being $2k are underestimating how versatile it is, and how many problems this thing solves. I am sure I will get the itch for some new equipment at some point, but man it's going to be difficult to justify anything else. I can get close enough to any sound I can dream up. Yeah the FM implementation isn't quite as sweet as a Digitone, but I'd give that up for having an infinite sound pallet in one box with no cables, and a battery. What's more, is if anyone had the skill (hello Ess @Fors) Digitone style racks and instruments are all possible.

This is probably the device of the decade. Maybe you could get us a update of the important topics, now 6 months after release: inclusion of more options for standalone operation (follow actions, Midi mapping, other small (?) leftovers) and then the topic of syncronisation with external hardware gear
I’ve been waiting patiently for this - awesome! We have such similar tastes in gear and music. What is the purpose of routing to the audio tracks for you - is it mostly for how you interact with the midi fighter? (I didn’t know you could map non-native controllers yet, I have launchpad and launch control xl connected).
This was great guys. Watched the whole thing start to finish. Would love for someone to post making an entire multi-song live set with Push 3 Standalone to see how it's done. You said a creator did that for a show you had recently. Would love to see that process.
Would love to see you do more push3 tutorials pretty please

oh rad! Thanks for the tip!
Not only Substracting but also adding slices in simpler or notes in Clip view by pressing some button is really necessary for it to be somehow functional.
Plus one for adding and external screen for standalone, I’m sure this could be done with a basic app on iOS or android, opening up complete utilisation suite with even more intuitive touch gestures. Call it ‘Pull’ for push standalone!

Great tutorial over all. Really loving that they fixed the sample selection issue with the drum rack. @ 1:09:06 you guys say that you found a bug but I noted that you had an automation dot on the transpose in the simpler. When you changed the slot pitch it did transpose the sample but that transpose automation date was still there. I coudl be wrong. I hope I am because automating the slot pitch would be great. Curious if you concur. Thanks for the great content.

Great video! Wow… lots of info. Apologies if this was covered somewhere and I missed it. I come from a DAWless, Elektron background and just got Ableton… and sort of waiting for a Push 3 to really dig in because I’m really not into the computer screen and mouse. I’m thinking of a Push 3 in combination with a Novation Launchkey 3, which is also supposed to be set up for Ableton. Would that make sense or is that just overkill and duplicating the controls? Would it be better to connect the Launchkey to the Push 3 or just go straight to the computer?
@wakinglife7065
6 ай бұрын
I haven’t tried it yet but I use it Novation launch/ key mkiii for Ableton and MPC.. it doesn’t double up controls but it’s useful for mixing and adding keys to pads. But I think the Akai Mini Plus would be better with its joystick and fully assignable cc knobs etc. it has its own sequencer as well and is fully class compliant with 5 din midi in and out. The push 3 has the 1/8? Inch version so you need an adapter like boss. But I could be totally wrong. I’m getting a push 3 soon aswell as mini plus so I’ll do some experimenting and get back to you
Hey, can I ask, Does the non-standalone have the adat functionality? Could you use the stadalone with overbridge?
comment about ratchets : best way to make ractchets is live, with repeat fct, with loop selector you can focus on the part of the loop where you want to add some. just record , listen, undo if necessary. 1 more tip : I Highly recommend for beat construction to use the loop selector and repeat fct, start with 1/4 for kick and snare, so you don't even need the metronome ( I hate its sound, never use it) , move to 1/8 for more rythm and then higher rates for highhats and ratchets , fill some bars with various loops, then play with the loops you made to make a performance, add some non recorded events for variation if you wish. Now lets make the magic happens : go to nex clip, hit capture... and here you go, you can have a very long performance recorded (64 bars I think) as a clip. you can even have mute and automations recorded. Best thing with that : you don't even need to know how to fingerdrum to end with a really "human" performance ( you can use recorded groove from you favourite drummer to make it sound more human)
Wow. 25min in and I know it's not for me; as I still don't know what it does. Thank you!

1:47:24 with monitoring set to In/Auto the latency is recorded as well, it records what you hear, latency included. “Off” is most accurate with no latency (set up Delay Error Compensation to make it work), you just monitor directly with an interface. Ableton’s help page is written a bit oddly on it. Anyway, cool stream, my impression of the standalone is that its not yet standalone yet lol, still missing essential features and I’d say it’s seriously challenging for Ableton to include them all.

45:00 another LFO test its aliasing solution, does it actually reach max and min in every spin or does it interpolate and therefore antialias the value? :)
Very informative video! One thing you said you'd cover but didn't quite cover in the end: can this be used for producing a full track with preprogrammed automation for things like the intro, break, buildup, drop etc? I understand the concept of clips and it seems the Push is meant for live performances, but could you make copies of clips and eg create "scenes" where one longer scene of say 16 bars is the intro, and you then add automation over that full length to eg open up a filter? And then basically stack a bunch of scenes on the clip layout so you can play back a finished song by progressing scenes one by one? I'm more of a producer kind of guy, I don't stand and perform in front of an audience or anything, so to me it's about being able to basically get a much more flexible and better sounding MPC - not a device to perform on live but to make full songs on. Thanks!
That camera on Jordan's face in the intro is a thing of beauty. Don't forget to subscribe and join the discord! discord.gg/KUSBH9h Lessons and contact: ezbot.live Support this channel by joining the Patreon : www.patreon.com/ezbot
on session view can you have a track loaded with an instrument/device/synth and have the clips below being the same instrument/device/synth but with different parameters? so it makes a different sound, and sequence the midi notes with the oxi one

On the latest beta, make sure in your midi settings under the Input section that Ableton Push 3 External Port is set to Track and Sync. Midi clock in should work after that! If link is on, midi clock in might not work, I haven't tested what takes priority in that scenario
Cool. Thank you. I’d better stay with digitakt & syntakt 😄
If you could plug a keyboard a mouse and a screen, it would be dope. Joking, not joking 🤷♀ Something like push not stand alone and a small footprint pc/hybrid laptop? Great down to earth video, there's so much noise out there.
Hey Matthew, I'm curious after watching a bunch of your Digi 2 videos - I get that you're an Elektron guy (me too), but why has Push 3 not made it's way into your workflow in a meaningful way? Just seems so powerful in comparison to the grooveboxes (at least at a high level; I've not touched one yet!).

feel like the 'woops im in the wrong scale' at 2:30:00~ sums up the experience pretty well. when everything is jiving and recording loops, all is well. have to change a couple notes you already played? its gonna be rough. on a laptop it takes mere seconds. on push3 its just not fluid yet.

You can actually change the note like he was trying to do. You have to be in the clip view, as they were, and then either hit the "edit" button, or click the jog wheel. In this screen you can now use the jog wheel to select individual notes (one or many) and then you can edit many of their attributes, including the note value. Not as quick as the laptop but it's as easy as an Elektron box.

And what about crossfader ? How to switch between tracks ?
That's wrong, channel in In mode will bring latency & channel in Off mode will ensure no lantency is added during the recording, but the sound will not be monitored. When In mode, the internal is delaying the full project transport based on the biggest estimated channel's lantency. Thisi mechanism is called PDC, and this is the biggest nightmare of Ableton because it's not accurate (unfortunately).
That moment when you test to see if you can hold multiple notes and p lock them - absolutely adorable lmfao

i still dont really get why you would get one! doesnt translate well for performance, a nerfed DAW standalone. Less mouse clicks required for same workflows.
The price difference between the one without and the one with the CPU and RAM in it is pretty outrageous considering they can't give 11th gen Intel processors away, and it's an i3. Thenwhen you consider how cheap ram is currently as well. Intel sells the nuc that it's in the processing unit for the push for $200. Also go listen to some reaktor ensembles on maschine+ standalone and tell me they don't sound almoat analog
