The 8RX isn't what you think it is!

The John Deere 8RX has been something of an internet sensation over the last few months and I got the chance to get my mitts on one. This isn't so much a review as an overview as this machine isn't hitting customers until mid Summer. Here are some of the points that didn't make it into the video that are still worth a read
- 21T (up to 24T with Ballast - Front only) with 4.5m2 footprint and 7psi ground pressure
- Better turning than RT, turns like a wheel tractor
- Larger footprint than the RT
- Don't need an H license in the UK unlike the RT
- 70cm Ground clearance
- Rigid axle, no suspension but the tracks to have lateral levelling to compensate
- 20cm front track lift, no weight on front idler for better turning
- 8RX Backend is the biggest casting that John Deere Make in Agriculture
- 4 point Cab suspension
- front/rear camera
- 10.5m turning circle
- Officially 40k speed but in testing it does get to 44k

Looks so futuristic! Love that farming equipment is finally catching up on design.
Hmm, you've raised some interesting points there: Licence Class, etc. and NO, I didn't realise the machines were so different. Will have to do some more research:Is racks the way to go? 7psi sanding still - what about DYNAMIC pressure - would take fright! thanks for posting. Oh and get the turtle Wax out for the 290!

does anyone know what a H licence is? im not from the UK
Being a farmer I think the half track is better(quote haven't drove one with tracks)but when you are sitting there and turn your tracks wile not moving you might tare up the ground from the front track turning.

I like wheels better but this still looks awesome!
For me, the entire 2020 8R line is not recognizable as a 8R, mainly because of the front hood and the lights, tho it is better than the first gen 8R which had the same grill as the 7020,7030 and i think the 8030 series. Deere should have done it like with the 7R, you can see it's a 7R just by looking at it without seeing the numbers
How come you dont need to wear seat belts on tractors?

No average farmer could afford or even worse maintain this machine
It's ok however I think the wheel version is better.

Pros and cons with both. Depends what user wants. Simple as that
4:43 Stick to tractors m8. Audis are tame compared to BMWs? Christ, ever heard of the RS6, RS7, original Quattro, the R10???
