Border View Farms is a mid-sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. My name is Nathan. I am fortunate to be able to farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. I make and edit all of the videos posted here. Our part-time employee, Brock, also helps with the filming. Occasionally I'll get my dad in a video as well. While I am the 4th generation in my family to farm some of what we are still farming today, I really credit my dad with making our farm what it is. 1980 was our first year in Waldron where our main farm is now. Since then we have grown the operation from just a couple hundred acres to over 3,000. Watch my 500th video for a history of our farm I filmed with my dad.
I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. Agriculture is different from any other industry and I believe the more people that are showing their small piece of agriculture, helps to build our story. We face unique challenges and stressful situations but have some of the most rewarding payoffs in the end. I get to spend everyday doing what I love, raising my kids on the farm, and trying to push our farm to be better every year. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture.
Please enjoy my content and ask questions as you have them. I do my best to answer anything I can. Thanks for watching!
I appreciate you subscribing to my channel and liking my videos. You can also find me on Facebook borderviewfarms and on Instagram @borderviewfarms

    We got 8RXs last year and Kenn Feld did a good job setting them up, but there was an issue from the factory with track alignment. One of ours chewed the drive lugs up a bit on one track due to misalignment. You’ll want to keep an eye on yours. We’re just down the road from you along Hwy 20 by SR576 in Ohio. Good luck with the new rig.

    Hey there Nathan, I hope this finds you all well and good! You lucky dog, a brand new John Deere Signature Series 8RX with IVT, it don't get any better than that brother! I feel sure you've already gotten lots of answers to your Command Pro button question, so let me give you the correct answer. That button controls the aggressiveness/time that it takes to accelerate from a dead stop, to your pre-selected operating speed. You have 3 settings which are personal preferences, just try them and see which one you best like. I will tell you this, the less aggressive/longer acceleration time settings will save you a relatively small amount of fuel, it's similar to a jackrabbit start in your car. I'll be waiting for your 100 hour evaluation report, I have no doubt it will be positive. I hope y'all have a good one ! "Nothing Runs Like A Deere" 🦌👍🇺🇸

    I might own that exact tractor once it’s 20 years old lol 😂 For awhile I had almost everything late model, less than 5 years old, but it’s going to be a long time before we upgrade. We did amazing with 80’s and 90’s Deere equipment. I sold every last one of that old stuff for more than what I paid for it! You can’t do that with any other flavor of the rainbow. It’s FREE! 🤪

    John Deere rx8 button control on joy stick, Rate of Movement - The trapezoid shaped thumb button adjusts the response rate of acceleration and deceleration, low (1 light), medium (2 lights) and high rate (3 lights) of movement.

  • @farrightfarmer2525
    @farrightfarmer25252 жыл бұрын

    The button with the three lights will determine how quickly the tractor changes directions and accelerates or decelerates when you push the joystick forward or backward or you hit the power reverser handle to change directions. If you are going forward and you want to gradually come to a stop and then gradually start your speed back up in reverse as you flip the power reverser lever then leave The button on one light. If you want the tractor to come to a stop very quickly and then start to back up very quickly when you flip the power reverser handle then you can put it on three lights. Two lights will be in between of course. You will notice more of a difference when you are revved up at high RPMs.

    Don’t you have an extra monitor in your new combine? Can’t remember if you do or not. Otherwise maybe look into taking the armrest monitor out of it and using that? We take our 2630 out of our R4038 sprayer and use it during harvest in a tractor. Not sure if it’s possible with a Gen 4 tho.
