    Hi, Hocam Yanlışlıkla Girdim Atar Mısınız ? 👋😀 That's AWESOME! Congratulations on beginning your pull ups journey!!! Four months ago I could basically do 0-1 pull ups, depending on how generous you feel like being, LOL. After 4 months of training I can now do 7 pull ups! My form is STILL not 100% perfect, but with consistent effort I made progress. You might see other people progressing faster (or slower) than you. None of that matters. This is a YOU vs. YOU FROM YESTERDAY journey. Stay focused. Stay consistent. Train hard. Think about your NUTRITION. Rest properly. You got this! Be sure to write again once you get your first unassisted pull up! I would love to hear how it goes for you and to celebrate your accomplishments along the way... 😇👍

    Nice work Jack, pull ups are so hard that's why they are KING! 😊 p.s I am very jealous of your home gym set up, you should get some rings and make it the ULTIMATE home gym. 😂

    HAHA! 😂 Thanks, Pete! My home gym setup, which lovingly goes by the name of "Gertrude", is a staple member of the family for Eveline and I. Fun Fact: Gertrude also doubles as an excellent fort for movie night. And funny you should mention it, but I did get the opportunity to use some rings like a week or so ago and I enjoyed them immensely!!! Soooooo many cool things you can do with a set of rings. Needless to say, they are currently sitting on my Fitness Wish List 😀👍 I see you just published your No Coffee for 30 Days video. I have not made time to watch it yet, but I am keen to hear your results as I have been toying with the idea of eliminating coffee/caffeine from my life for 30 days, too. Thank you for sharing! How are you sleeping? How many hours? Tossing around? What about people interaction or any unexpected possible side effect of these physical challenges that you're doing. Again thank you so much for sharing this with us incredibly inspiring

  • @JackClancy296

    Hi, workendog 1! 👋😀 Thanks for watching and for your questions. I'm sleeping mostly fine. I did notice that since I increased my physical activity (ESPECIALLY in December when I did the 5k every day challenge) that I need MORE sleep than in the past. I used to average about 7 hours per night and was just fine with that. Now, however, I find that my body wants 8 hours a night, if not more. There is also a logistical issue with my sleeping... I live in a studio apartment with my partner and our cat. Our cat, however, has a totally different sleeping schedule than we do, so my sleep often gets interrupted due to her being wide awake anywhere from 4-5:30am. This is an issue. As for people interraction... I'm thrilled to say that 99.99% of the comment I receive here on KZread are positive. Additionally, I have made some close connections with other Fitness KZreadrs (Fun with Calisthenics and Pete On Purpose, to name a few) which I deeply cherish. Possible Side Effects... YES! 1. Firstly, I still have a nagging shoulder/back pain after the 100 pushups a day for a year challenge. So, INJURY is always possible when performing physical challenges. 2. Secondly, challenges are fun, but they do neglect the BASICS of health and fitness such as focusing on compound movements and progressively overloading your workouts. I know I would have had more spectacular "results" with other workouts. But I enjoy this, which is important for my exercise compliance long term. It also satisfies my curious, scientific mind to be able to perform a variety of "experiments" on myself and to be able to document the progress. 3. Of course, hopping from challenge to challenge does not provide enough time to dig deeper into one specific aspect of health and fitness. I am, in essence, becoming a Jack of All Trades / Master Of Nothing. That's not entirely true, as pretty much everything I do is focused on health and fitness in general, but I am not exactly becoming an expert in any one type of training. This COULD hurt me in the long term... but maybe not. We shall see. 4. Probably lots more... but nothing else comes to mind right now : ) I hope this answers your questions. Wishing you all the best, Jack

    Good work. How are your pullups if you pull yourself straight up with a bit of the chest sticking up as well? As opposed to your body goes up like a bowemotion?

  • @JackClancy296

    @JackClancy296

    Thanks as always, Torbjörn! 👊😀 They have not been as good or as strong as the bow motion, in truth. I wonder if some of that has to do with the fact that the bar is too low for me (my feet touch the ground) and the fact that I was only able to get my assistance bands around my knees as opposed to around my feet (altered forces making me want to bow more?!?)? It could also just be that I've trained the bow motion too much without intentionally bringing the chest up. Still, it's a great reminder to me to try it out!!! Thanks again for that.

    WOW! That's an awesome start! There is a big difference between wide vs. shoulder width (not wide) pull ups. I would suggest focusing on more of a shoulder width grip for now. Based on what I have seen, it is a better overall position to be in for your body and you can generate more strength this way. You will reach your goal of 15 pull ups faster this way 😇👍 You could include some wide grip, neutral grip, and even chin-ups for variety, but I would focus on the standard, non-wide grip for now.

    Thanks, demonofdeath19! 👊😀 Great question. The next video I publish will answer your question, but I will give you a sneak peak right now... I started tracking my calorie and protein intake for the first time using My Fitness Pal. The goal (among other goals) is to do a SLOW cut and to see how accurate and enjoyable the process can be. In January I lost about 3 lbs., while the expected result "should" have been 4.4 lbs. Still, I'm thrilled with the result and have decided to continue this experiment in February. I hope to lose another 3 lbs. this month and to continue to SLOWLY work my way from about 186 lbs. down to 175 lbs. while not sacrificing much strength or muscle mass. I suspect it will take about 4-5 months to lose those 11 lbs. the "right" way. I'm curious to see how it goes...
