The 8 Most Annoying Yokai From Japanese Folklore, You (likely) Haven't Heard of...

Фильм және анимация

Japanese folklore is filled with many, many creatures called Yokai. Usually these are thought of as scary or even dangerous... (Check out Linfamy's video on the 8 Most Dangerous Yokai here: • 8 Most Dangerous Yokai... ) While many of these Yokai are Dangerous, many others are simply annoying. They mess with humans just because they can, so in this video I will count off 8 Annoying AF Yokai, who will piss you off to no end.

There’s one annoying yokai I love, but kind of feel sorry for: Taka-Onna. She’s a female yokai that haunts red light districts, a very tall lady whose sole purpose in life is to peep through second-story windows at “preoccupied” couples. These could be prostitutes and their clients, or cheaters and their side partners. Either way, she loves watching them through the windows like the world’s tallest voyeur. She isn’t much of a danger to people, rarely outright harming anyone. But she will harass and bother and startle them for her own amusement, and also because she’s said to have been unable to find romantic partners in her human life as she wasn’t very attractive. As a yokai, the energy of two or more people gettin’ busy acts as her source of nourishment, but she loves harassing them out of jealousy.

it might or might not be a yokai perse, but one of my favorites has to be the Uma-no-ashi, a horse's leg which dangles from a tree and kicks passersby and then hides between the leaves. these japanese myths are just so weird, i love em. some do really nothing impactful, others will steal your soul just by looking at them, and others are just simply helpfull. like the Akaname, a spirit who licks off filth in untidy bathrooms. i would be happy to have one of those.

If you eat his tofu it will be the most amazing thing you’ve ever tasted but it turns your lungs, tongue and everything from the inside out into mushrooms slowly and painfully.
