    Lead engineer is pretty important because a good core makes the whole game stable. If a new person adds some weird feature the core should still be stable.

    @@AskGamedev well because i'm using the unreal engine 4, blueprint is fun because the experimenting on learning the blueprint system. I learn a lot and could even do blueprint myself.

    My friends and I are a 4-man team. We all have some experience in at least one of these fields, with me having the most experience. I can do a little bit of everything, and I am the lead programmer. I also am the manager. So, I think my friends and I are all set.

    Nice and great video! Just want to point out something. The 3ds max logo and maya logo are the other way around on 5:00. Let's forget that small detail. Anyway, I thought the animator job is part of artist's job LOL and you cleared it up on 5:49 (I'm like oh sh*t I'm wrong then oh it's not hahaha). A long time ago I've some great idea for making a new game, but the idea go to thin air and I can't remember what that idea about. Next time should write down a nice idea that comes to my mind even though I can't create it (knowledge, time, and other issues). LOL Just want to say you have great content and great quality video! Keep it up guys!

    as someone who wants to make a game as a hobby project I plan on learning most of these over time, I think my biggest problems would be through animation and audio design. Unless I can find some really handy assets that'll streamline these for me.

    And I am here making my whole game by myself, I just started yesterday but I had to depend on pre made assets because I did not have a Game designer, Audio designer, and an Artist. I use rpg playground for practicing so no need to make my own assets. Good thing I have experience in story telling which made my game look like a story focused game than a real rpg. Idk I just have to wait and see

    As a solo dev: No coding = less control and less complexity. More speed and no unnecessary setup code Script = more control and greater scope, less speed Bootstraps = enhanced control and potentially grand and ultimassive projects. Scope is at least a couple months Vulkan = you literally have to be making a high-end superproject to even poke this thing with a stick. You’re guaranteed at least 2 years if you’re new

    Hey guys, I am 3D artist and essentially, I can make every bit of graphics I need for my game, but, my skills in programming are extremely low.So, what do you think I should do? A.Try to make it on my own based on tutorials in unity/unreal. B.Make some assets and try to hire a programmer from my limited budget to at least make a demo. C.Something else.     c# is an excellent language to start your knowledge of game development with. It’s the main language used in Unity - the popular game engine.

    You can also use C# in MonoDevelop/MonoGame and Godot. 👍 And C# is good for Xamarin too for apps, but Idk if Xamarin is good for mobile games

    I would recommend you to get into a big game making discord. Not only do most of them have a channel where you can ask people to join your team. You can also talk to people and ask them questions. Btw if you want to start your own team it might be smart to join an other team for a time to look how they do the things

    I know it has been 2 years, but honestly, school is a good way to learn. While going through school (like a community college or something until you get more serious and go for the BS), keep developing small projects and use the things you learned to make games.

    No narrative designer will make your game absolute garbage, talking from experience. :) It's the most underrated and important parts of making games.

    It's a team effort. visual artist make backgrounds and backdrops and so much that goes into a game is unseen or overlooked by the player

    Sometimes it's easier for animator (and some artists) to have the audio done first. Artists may get a better feel for characters, and animators may have clearer parameters for timing, especially for things like lipsynching.
