My mom (a breast cancer survivor) also says that people just TALK ABOUT cancer more than they used to. That when she was growing up, it was considered almost unspeakably tragic, and even obituaries would say someone died "after a long illness," which usually meant "cancer". That all changed in the '80s and '90s, so anyone who grew up before then probably drew the conclusion that there was some kind of cancer explosion going on.

We are also much better at identifying cancer now. There was a time when people just “got sick and died”, no explanation. Now we have very specific diagnosis, treatment, and even specialist doctors for nearly everything.

+DynamixWarePro Fun fact. Popeye eats spinach because he was bribed by the US government. During "the War" it was a concern that with dads away and mom's working the children were not going to get enough nutrition. additionally, a misplaced decimal has us thinking that spinach was impossibly nutritious since the 1930s (seriously, we only noticed this recently). So the government decided one way to help is to convince kids not to leave their _canned_ spinach uneaten on their plates (though, who could blame them, the stuff is vile.) So they went to the producers of a cartoon that seemed like something kids would like and asked them to boost the profile of canned spinach. Now is has become synonymous with squint eyed sailors.

@@netwonc no. firstly it depends on the cancer type, you can live with mild forms for years for some types, but others kill you if left untreated in days. Secondly, most cancer treatments that are treated in hospitals are monitored closely, and they do come with risks, but leaving cancer alone that is going to kill you anyway... You actually have more chances with the treatment then leaving it alone. My own mother just had treatment for cancer in Jan, and is fine. 8 weeks later and she is walking around fine. No cancer signs at all, they got it early and they got it good. Meanwhile her sister and mother had the same type of cancer, no treatment was offered in my grandmother's day so she died. And my aunt died despite treatment as she was too far gone. the only type of cancer treatment that kills you flat out are the kinds that aren't being regulated. Like eating apple seeds and so fourth, they are poison. The main thing to remember is there is no difference between normal cells and cancer cells except that the cancer cells have a random mutation that makes them multiply out of control. So you can't normally target them specifically and the body will even protect these cells because to it, its just a normal cell like any non-cancer one. The rumours cancer cells are more acidic or whatever is not even true before of it. and these are many types and variations to boot so each needs to be treated differently. Chemotherapy is often these days a last resort for this reason and saved for extreme cases. In the last 40 years we now have different treatments and people are surviving cancer more and more.

That last misconception is very interesting. It's true for cancer, and also for many (though not all) diseases or conditions that are considered to be "due to our modern world". Yes, as we get rid of some causes of death (infectious disease, for instance), people live longer and the longer you live, the more likely you are to die from other causes, like like cancer, dementia or "old age" (organ failure due to cells in your organs degenerating and becoming worse at doing their job). Better diagnostic tools is also an important factor to take into account, especially with mental disorders: what at one point might've just been called a 'crazy person', now we have a broad range of named and acknowledged disorders, each with their own diagnostic criteria, and we're getting better at spotting symptoms.

Hank just as an update there is a lot of research going on at the moment regarding ketones and cancer. Yes if you simply avoid sugar the cancer cells will take it from your existing glycogen stores (which is why so many people suffer weight loss) and eating any carb source will add to the glucose needed for the cancer cells, but when your body has keto adapted studies are showing that the cancer cells struggle to find an energy source whereas the person affected has an adequate source of energy to feel normal. Worth taking a look into and updating this video.

@@feralblueeit really depends on how the ketogenic state is achieved and obviously thr nutritional aspect on the foods consumed. I don't believe humans are design to stay in ketosis for a lifetime, specially those whose gens perhaps favored the metabolism of glucose rather than fat. In my case, I did therapeutic ketosis for 4 months to successfully treat IR and my epilepsy. However I did a clean version of a meditarrean keto diet, I included unlimited vegetables and eat fruits (yes even sugary fruits such as bananas and mangoes) as dessert. I combined them with monosaturated fats and some saturated fat (to add flavor and calories) I managed to stay in ketosis with a glucose level of 120 after a moderate carb meal. Meaning there's way to do a healthy keto diet without weight loss muscle loss and a rise in colesterol, the only issue I found was eating out with friends. I now do 1 period of ketosis a year, and I mostly stay now between a very low carb diet and I would occasionally increase my carb intake around Christmas

Eating a high sugar diet over an extended period of time - will affect your body's insulin resistance. If this diet is maintained long enough, it might damage the B-cells in your pancreas, thus result in an unfavourable condition referred to as "type II diabetes", which is linked with hyperglycemia (elevated blood sugar levels). Hyperglycemia, even when it is acute, short-term hyperglycemia affects all major components of innate immunity and impairs the ability of the host to combat infection; the same kind of mechanism that the immune system utilizes for combating cancer-cells in your body. Skip the sugar (or at least; don't abuse it), or include a less damaging substitute in your diet. This shit is basic enought for anyone to look up.... Cheers

❤️❤️HARRY HOXSEY💯 CURED OVER 80% of his patients from cancer and most continued living for 10-15-20 or MORE years afterwards which is pretty good. He had 17 clinics (Hoxsey Institute) across United States and one in Mexico. A posting on KZread titled "the quack that cured cancer" is about him. Chemo and x-rays only benefit 5% of patients and then they are given 5 years to live because the cancer will come back and this time the immune system is devastated from those harmful “treatments.“ The human body has a natural pH level of 7.35 on average which is slightly alkaline. As long as the human body is alkaline, cancer CANNOT grow or survive because it MUST have an acid environment. THE BIGGEST CULPRIT FOR CANCER IS SUGAR which is in so much of our food as it causes your body to acidify and then open itself to cancer. Part of the cure used by Hoxsey and others includes vitamin B-17 (aka Laetrile) which has been removed from our primary diet by the AMA and the US government. Americans enjoyed baked goods from sorghum which was rich and be-17 until the federal government encouraged farmers to plant wheat instead which has no B-17. Plain baking soda and a glass of water an hour or more before each meal (an empty stomach)3 times a day for 30 days brings the pH back up to alkaline levels. Afterwards, I recommend taking a teaspoon of baking soda in water every day for the rest of your life. ♦️A teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water on an empty stomach at least 60 minutes before a meal 3 times a day for 30 days and then stop. Do it again 6 weeks later for a few weeks while eliminating sugar and high carbohydrates from the diet… Go green as much as possible and eliminate processed foods. Fruit juices are loaded with sugar and should be avoided or taken in very small servings. It’s much easier than chemo and x-rays and does not have any side effects. No harm trying the natural approach where as the chemo and x-rays destroy the immune system. ♦️Also, you can order ORGANIC BITTER APRICOT SEEDS which are rich in vitamin B-17. Eat 18 daily due to Cancer where is normally it would be 12 for prevention. Soak the seeds in water for 1-2 nights to make them very tender. Easy to eat, rich in fiber and even more pleasant with dark chocolate… Preferably 95% which is nearly pure cocoa with a minimum of sugar. - [ ] ✅ Order directly from the source www.rawgarden.net which is a company located in Pembroke Pines. Strangely, when they do not have stock, they take items off the website. This can also be ordered through Amazon for about the same price, but they are limited to stock from Raw Garden as well. =========== Each B-17 cell is made up of 4 molecules of which the 2 relevant molecules are one of sugar and one of naturally formed arsenic. When B-17 enters the body it is drawn to cancer cells which are drawn to the B-17 because it has a sugar cell in it… The cancer cells go for the sugar and that is the ONLY time the arsenic is activated and ONLY kills cancer cells ~ NOT healthy cells. 🤗👍👍 FALSE articles are continuously published by the AMA and US federal government LYING to the American people by telling them they will have arsenic poisoning if they get vitamin B-17 into their systems… Cancer makes lots of money for oncologists and facilities “treating” cancer patients. Nobody will NOT build up a toxicity of arsenic with this or other natural sources of B-17. The AMA fought to SUPPRESS Harry Hoxsey and others providing NATURAL CURES to the American public because Pharmaceutical companies can NEVER get a patent on natural sources EVER. An important KZread video is titled “the quack that cured cancer” which is an article written by a newspaper reporter who was sent to Harry Hoxsey so he could “expose him as a quack.” (Watch it!) 🤗 Hoxie was exposed… Saving over 80% of his patients. When the reporter met with Harry Hoxsey, they interviewed for a while and then Hoxsey told the reporter he did not have more time as he had many patients… Harry Hoxsey told the reporter to INTERVIEW all the PATIENTS he wanted to and to REVIEW all the PATIENT FILES he wished… The reporter interviewed 100+ patients who told him that they were being cured and Others that were cured were returning for followups… all those cured by the Hoxsey method remained CANCER-FREE and LIVED 5-10-15-20 years or more compared to the maximum 5-year limit of traditional treatment cancer patients. Rarely did any of these patients die of cancer and many lived without cancer for 5-10-15-20+ years!! 🥰👍👍 A very important fact that most people are unaware of is that your body‘s natural pH level is 7.35 which is slightly alkaline… If your pH drops below 7.0 ( neutral), your body becomes acidic which is what cancer needs to flourish. Fact: Cancer CANNOT SURVIVE in an alkaline body which means as long as you have a normal pH, you will NEVER develop cancer. Basically, an alkaline-food source of an all green diet without ANY wheat, meat, dairy products or anything processed will restore your health along with a steady source of B-17 to KILL and PREVENT further cancer. 🤗🤗🤗 An easy and inexpensive way to bring your body’s pH back into a healthy alkaline levels is to take a simple teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water ONE HOUR OR MORE before each meal (3 times daily for 30 days). You do not want to extend the period because you could develop alkalosis. Furthermore, research foods that cause alkalinity in your blood as well as those that caused acidity. Make sure your diet includes those foods that cause the alkalinity and avoid those that cause acidity. Pretty simple.😁👍👍 Pharmaceutical companies know there is “very little money” in curing cancer when they can make plenty prolonging it. Chemo and x-rays destroy the immune system of 100% of patients receiving these “treatments.“ Less than 5% of patients receiving this treatment prove it “effective” and are then told they have up to 5 years to live. Don’t forget that X-RAYS CAUSE CANCER so why would you want treatment using x-rays? Remember, the people giving you x-rays always get away so they are not exposed… How can you believe it can help you? LIES.🤮👎 With claims between 80% and 90% or more of TOTAL CURES for patients of Harry Hoxsey in his 17 clinics across United States and one in Mexico during the 1920s well into the 1960s until the US government and the FDA finally shut it all down… Except Tijuana Mexico which still has the Biomedical Center Hoxsey Clinic using the Hoxsey method… Healthy natural diet, elimination of all sugar and processed foods along with the Hoxsey tonic of antineoplastic (anti-cancer) natural herbal ingredients. If I ever developed cancer, I would be sure to contact the BCHC rather than seeing AMA doctors who will kill you with chemo and radiation (cancer-producing) treatments. Although the Hoxsey method cure rate is astronomically high compared to traditional western methods many claim he died of cancer although his regular primary physician claimed he had a weak heart and kidneys. Even ***IF*** he had developed cancer and could not cure himself with the method, REMEMBER THAT 80% OR MORE WERE CURED which is astronomically higher compared to living up to 5 years maximum with a severely compromised lifestyle until you die miserably.🤢🤮 Biomedical Center Hoxsey Clinic in Tijuana Mexico +52 (664) 684 9011. Yes the info is inadequate, please research! Don't suffer and die needlessly from a and illness which can be prevented and cured! Best wishes to all 😁👍

Been on a SciShow binge recently (hands up, anyone else?), you guys have so many videos on so many diverse topics! That's not the only reason I love this channel of course, Hank and all the other presenters are highly entertaining to watch as well, but perhaps most important of all the team as a whole have no qualms about saying it like it is. What I mean, to be precise, is that SciShow do the proper research and present their points in a way that's both factually sound and informative, yet very easy to digest. I particularly admire that, like truly scientific minds, they aren't afraid to go against the grain either. Whether it's clearing up common misconceptions as in this video, or even correcting themselves when they make a mistake or the theories are altered, SciShow remains true to the spirit of the science genre. This world needs to be more informed, and it's people like those of the SciShow team and their loyal viewers who make that possible. Keep up the excellent work and stay classy!

Actually it is not true that "protein gets turned into glucose" - that's Gluconeogenesis, and it only occurs if you are consuming way too much protein; otherwise in the absence of dietary sources of glucose the body will subsist on stored fat in the form of ketone bodies. See also: journal.diabetes.org/diabetesspectrum/00v13n3/pg132.htm

+Joseph Gosselin (Popple) Gluconeogenesis occurs the moment your glucose levels drop too much. Your red blood cells are totally dependant on glucose, they can't use anything else. Glucose is the preferred nutrient of your brain. Even after shifting to the use of keto-bodies, the brain will have a base demand of glucose. You'll feel a little dizzy at the time of the shift as the brain will first have to produce the enzymes necessary to use keto bodies. Glucose is not only an energy souce, but also a building block used in glyco-proteins and glyco lipids. Proteins as well as lipids will be turned to glucose to satisfy the base demand. Of course protein will be used if there is alot of it, as it is necessary for other stuff. Your body will produce glucose at all costs. Only and idot would reduce their glucose intake to zero. It's not healhty to keep up a ketogenic diet.

It showed clearly that not only cancer gets bigger faster in high glucose mediums, it also was more likely to migrate (metastasize) and less likely to die off of chemotherapy. So yes it will get its sugar elsewhere, but you can also fuel it to destroy you faster by high caloric intake, this really scared me. They also changed appearance and looked completely different in high glucose (and we transformed them multiple times back and forth to check if they are the same cells)

Take my words with a grain of salt as this is a high school biology answer, all water has an acidity and you drinking acidic water will do no harm to you because it doesn't stay in your system long enough to do damage. Acidic water is a problem because in large amount such as a lake will cause quite a bit of danger to the wildlife such as fish and plants who are constantly in or connected to the water which gives the acidity in the water enough time to do damage to wildlife

In reality we are not bringing down the Cancer rates in industrialized nations. That's nonsense. There are only a handful of cancers we have really made significant progress in treating. For the most part, most cancers treated by modern American Medicine sport only about a 9% success rate. This means in lay men's terms , Modern Medicine has less success in treating most Cancers than a sugar pill. The placebo effect accounts for from 30 to 40 % of positive results in clinical studies of drugs. Modern Main Stream Medical Cancer treatments of most cancer are far less successful than even a placebo, 9% vs. 30 to 40%. And the Main Stream treatments are also highly toxic, and potentially carcinogenic in and of themselves, so even if they cure your cancer, they are often causing mutations to set you up down the road for a new cancer to arise. All this if fact and beyond any serious refutation, it is well known and easily uncovered with the slightest bit of research.

On the sugar one, if you go into ketosis through either fasting or keto diet you would lower your glucose in your blood stream resulting in slower cancer expansion

  • @virtualyuriqueen

    @virtualyuriqueen

    5 жыл бұрын

To add to that, if you lower your blood sugar drastically (which is shown to happen in a ketogenic state), you lower the presence of insulin in your body, which in turn reduces the amount of IGF1 which is what causes cancer cells to proliferate. Also, the guy in this video didnt explain that cancer cells cannot use ketones for energy, unlike healthy cells. Therefore, ketosis reduces blood sugar levels, which reduces IGF-1, which reduces cancer cell proliferation and growth and depletes the energy source cancer cells need to thrive.

I've been subscribed to this show for many years and I still feel that the biology talks lack a little, though over all, I still learned something here. On sugar, that's not the argument people give. You'd first have to believe in leaky gut and that overgrowth of candida contributes to an acidic environment that helps some cancers grow. The thought is that sugar feeds yeast, the imbalance/wrong ratio of bacteria in the gut contributes to more waste products for the bad bacteria, the environment becomes too acidic etc. ...

JB 0885 well yes and no, since if you think just the energy content a gram of protein is 4cal and gram of carbs is 4cal. But everything else couldn't be more different. Protein has higher thermic effect than fast carbs and is more filling to a degree, so you are better of eating the x amount of protein instead of fast carbs, BUT if your total protein consumption is over your protein need (that always is) you will convert the amino acids to glucose via gluconeogenesis (or to fat if you are on a caloric surplus, but to a lesser degree than caloric surplus from carbs or fats)

Sugar may not cause cancer but it is responsible for a lot of other things! When I stopped added sugar in my diet I immediately started losing weight after a long seemingly futile battle with my weight. I also discovered how addictive sugar is, which explained for me somewhat the intensity of the Atlantic slave trade. I did not change anything else. Search 'Robert Lustig' and 'sugar' here on KZread for the science. The earlier, longer videos go into detailed biochemistry for those able to follow. Sugar may not cause cancer directly, but the many effects of obesity can.

Yellowstone: Canadian physicians referred terminal patients they no longer had any treatment to offer to the nurse Rene Cassie. Cassie offered them an Ojibiwa medicine men formulation of herbs: sheep sorrel, slippery elm, burdock, and turkey rubarb root. Of the patients who went to Cassie and used the Ojibiwa tea, some went into remission after having had their physicians give up. Cassie keep clinical notes and write a book. It was not allowed to be imported into the USA. Essiac, Cassie's Tea has been widely sold in health food stores for many decades I a liquid form & as a dry tea to be brewed. It is sold as a liquid because the standard instructions are to boil a bottle of tea twice fir 29 minutes each time, 24 hours apart if one is going to store the tea for up to a week in the refrigerator. This is because the nutrient rich tea will grow microbes if not boiled sufficiently. At least 3 teas have traditional reputations for strengthening the immune system:. Sheep sorrel, chamomile, & echenacia. Chamomile also has a traditional reputation as an anti-inflammatory. After people have compromised their immune system by eating non-foods for decades, it is important to allow them to seek out actual foods to attempt to rebuild their strength. I agree with you that the ill should NOT be preyed on. On the other hand, some things that we have not heard if before really can be legit. A quart of Essiac used to cost $40. A small, brown lunch bag if the dry tea used to cost $15. I have no idea what the costs are now. We are told that if aspirin were discovered now, it would be marketed with a high price tag. I favor science but have found that commercial industry is not always the answer. One has to be mindful of actual results. I assume you don't object to people getting good results.
