I'm gonna guess you re"installed" the bigsby wrong. If you don't know how to tighten them properly, it leads to tuning stability problems. One of the common causes of Bigbsy, problems is becuase users over tighten them.
@hkguitar1984
Жыл бұрын
@@popeye089 I concur. A quick visit to the Bigsby Website, under the "Support" heading list several important steps required to prevent tuning stability issues. One of the main steps is that when installing new strings each string needs to be crimped at a 45-degree angle next to the ball end. Failure to follow this one step is enough to cause tuning issues. All that needed to be done is check the manufactures website. I really doubt the builder or owner of a new $55,000 guitar would tolerate such issues. Like I said, the Bigsby website has got to be the last word on all things Bigsby. Just my $.02 Cents.
Like Randy Rhoads said when a student was afraid to handle his guitar because he might scratch it, “you can either be a guitar player and put your own wear on it from practicing hard, or you can hang it on the wall”. We have ourselves a wall hanger that won’t stay in tune for only 55,000. 🤭

$55k and it can't keep in tune , man I'd be one sad camper. Metal inlays would probably make sanding the radius into the fretboard a huge pain in the ass. And did you notice the lack of tooling marks on the fretboard? I am not convinced they are even familiar with the concept.

+1 about the metal inlays and sanding issues. As for the lack of tool marks on the fingerboard, most of those marks on a Gibson are specifically from filing the fret nibs into the binding. This guitar's neck is unbound, so there would likely be no finishing filing other than dressing the fret ends.
@jondough76
Жыл бұрын
@@hkguitar1984 I didn't think about the binding/nibs. Maybe Gibson should just do away with fret nibs since they can't seem to finish them properly without chewing up the board. I have never been a fan of the nibs anyway.

@@jondough76 I agree with you. I think its just a Gibson tradition. IMHO, they should only offer the fret nibs on Historics and Re-Issues. That is just my $.02 Cents. That said, I've a 1986 Les Paul Custom with almost 40 years of regular playing wear. The fingerboard binding still looks great, however, due to the binding the edge of the fingerboard lacks the rolled edge/worn-in feel of my older Fender guitars. If I were to custom order a Les Paul (Standard or Custom) I'd omit the fingerboard binding and request the edges rolled over. Again, another $.02 Cents from me!

Not a big Flying V fan, hate relics & Bigsby's. However, I always watch your shows to see what's inside a guitar. For me I wouldn't pay anything for relics/aging. If I'm buying a new guitar I want it to be NEW! No scratches, no aging, etc. JMO
Salutations Austin! Interesting collectors piece, I certainly wouldn’t pay $55,000 dollars for such an instrument, I would just pick up an affordable one and just customise it myself, for a lot less, even if I could afford such an expensive instrument, which I cannot. Ideally, when I purchase a new guitar, I prefer it to look new, I don’t get the appeal of an artificially aged guitar directly from the manufacturer, but if it is an actual vintage instrument that has some actual wear and tear then that is a completely different story, but a brand new instrument it makes little sense to pay a premium for it, in my opinion. Whoever purchased this instrument was awesome to allow you to examine it and share it with us all! I hope they are happy with it. Thank you for posting these videos! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨🎸🎄
Badass-looking axe for sure. And for $55K, not many buyers are going have it as a player, so tuning issues are probably unimportant (but also easily remedied by a competent tech or luthier).
love that this custom doesn't stay in tune and gunks up your fingers.
I play sitting down a lot do to a motorcycle accident so a V is about the toughest for me. I can play them like a goober. As for as relived guitars it is done very well, they are just not my thing. I don’t mind old used guitars, I just don’t like the idea of faking one.
Presume the husks were selected from the wood stage rather than from existing blank bodies ????
Hi trogly… Great guitar… I’ve noticed your having trouble with tuning on this one , it’s the nut is sticking Pretty sure . Radio shack has what’s called synthetic lube One drop on the slot of each string at the nut will allow the strings to slide properly over the nut and stop friction .. allowing the guitar to stay in tune by removing the friction of the string over the nut …it will last the life of the string 2/3 months…try it you’ll like it’s worked for me .. gigging for many years I use on all my guitars 🎸 Peace bro great show lone time fan ….
I like how they include picks and a strap, as if the customer base for this would ever pick it up off their wall hangar lol
can you answer my question about the cs356 ?
No blacklight? Really curious how this aging looks. Cheers
