The most intense beat down for me was Gaethje vs Ferguson. Poor Tony is way too tough for his own good and just got helplessly smacked around the cage with fight-enders that he just refused to go down from. That fight ended his whole career, it’s the only fight for me that’s hard to watch

Even if Ferguson wasn't one of my favourite fighters of all time I would still find that so hard to watch. Everything about it was dumb, from his double cut, to him having no corner, to throwing sand, the sad thing is that Ferguson is now unstable and hard to work with as well, I guess it all caught up to the boogeyman sadly... He is still a fucking legend though and a once in a generation type of abnormal specimen. I will forever remember his beatdown of Pettis, CSO!

It's less about the skill of Max or Ilia Topuria and more about The issue with how the judge's score. Because in my eyes they both deserve a 10-7 with the top level they showed.

10-7's a dished out when a judge felt the round should have been stopped and wasn't (according to the criteria). Holloway vs Kattar was certainly lopsided as fuck and 10-8's were warranted but I felt as though Kattar was still there the whole fight. Been a while since I watched it though

The first 3,5-4 minutes of Emmett vs Topuria in round 4 was pretty even and competitive,means a 10:7 is absolutley nuts,Lee was the only person on planet which gave it a 10:7 and he was wrong.

It is worded as follows; “A 10 - 7 Round in MMA is when a fighter completely overwhelms their opponent in Effective Striking and/or Grappling and stoppage is warranted.” A 10 - 7 round in MMA is a score that judges will rarely give. It takes both overwhelming DOMINANCE of a round, but also significant IMPACT that, at times, cause the judge to consider that the fight could be stopped. Judges shall look for multiple IMPACTFUL blows or knockdowns that diminish the fighter, and/or grappling maneuvers that place the fighter in dominant situations with impact being inflicted that visibly diminishes the fighter‟s ability to compete." Considering that criteria, a 10-7 is well within the judges scope to award. You have to remember, judges are not privy to stats or replays. They are scoring the fight in real time from a fixed vantage point. If they saw Emmett taking ungodly damage and felt that a stoppage was warranted and not issued by the referee then they scored it correctly according to the criteria.

it was a 5th round finish, but the first two rounds were actually competitive and Tony had his good moments in the second round. but that was an inhuman amount of damage that could kill a lesser man than him. you could distribute all of the shots he took to 3 people and all of them would get immediately KOd but not Tony. I watched it live back then I thought Tony was doing good in the first two rounds until Gaethje was peppering him with nukes in the head in the 3rd round. I was actually hoping Herb would stop it in the 4th where Tony was already completely incapacitated by Gaethje.
