2:08 - the look on the face of the other two when Pavarotti hits the long, high note....and the 'look' Pavarotti gives at 2:54 when they try to, almost, hit the same height is why I adore this performance

2:14 when Pavarotti is singing, the other tenors are like, "He is the best." So they were like, "maybe we can beat him by singing together." and then when they did Pavarotti started smiling. Don't agree. Domingo to me, has by far the most powerfull voice of the 3. Being a Baritone Tenor, he has the widest voice range of the three and hits those high C5s like it's nothing- Pavarotti was nicknamed the "King of Cs" so it's no easy feat hitting those notes easily in front of the King himself and bring important Bass and depth into the piece, something the other two basic Tenors don't since Tenors, by nature, don't bring bass into the piece. That being said, I doubt anyone of these feels superior to the others.. this kind of talent makes anyone humble in the presence of it- even if that person too has that talent....my opinion, of course.

Once over several decades ago I saw all 3 singing spontaneously outside in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. It was so magical; the whole park, everyone, ppl on foot, roller blade, even in the cars, all just stopped whatever they were doing & listened in complete rapture. So beautiful! This kind of gum-chewing during performances were probably done by Pavarotti not only because he was talented enough to sing with the gum, but also because orchestras were dying to perform with him and he was talented enough to have gum on stage.

I still get goosebumps from Pavarotti's voice (he was always my favourite) but the friendly competition and evident camaraderie between the 3 tenors are also a big plus for this performance :)

I like that throughout the entire performance they look at each other like "Damn, that shit was tight"

The look on Pavarotti’s face at 2:08 and the effortlessness in his performance is simply magic

My grandfather is going to hospice and I’m listening to this song. He is Italian through and through, when I was little he would play opera music. I will miss him so very much, I am blessed to have had him so long. He was like a second dad to me, I got see him this past Thursday and talk to him( it was the last time he was awake, he has since been sleeping since then. On Thursday he asked me “ If I was okay and happy” I said “yes and told him thank you for being a wonderful nonno and a second dad to me I love you”. This song is giving me great comfort 😢 He passed away last night 3/24/23 I will miss him so very much. He truly was wonderful.

He makes me happy. Usually the orchestra looks like they're at a funeral but this dude's face was priceless, he was enjoying the show like the rest of us. Good for him.

I wish I was there. I would be crying tears of absolute joy hearing 3 of the most powerful tenors of all time sing their beautiful songs. Like true voices of angels, they can't be beaten

They're having so much fun with it too. Look at them go back and forth smiling as they try to outdo one another. That's pure passion and love for what they do right there.

They had such chemistry. Wonderful performers.

Of course, Domingo and Carreras are beyond spectacular. But Pavarotti was not an opera singer -- he was an antennae for us to hear the sound of God's voice.

I am forever grateful to have been alive during this time and raised by my Grandma who introduced me to beautiful music!!! 🥰💜😍

This song makes me wish I speak Italian :(

Precisely, the lyric is in Neapolitan (dialect from Napoli), "cousin" of Sicilian dialect. :D :)

this song is in neapolitan , most of northern and central italian can not understend this song without a translate .. you need to learn neapoletan or another southern italian dialect like sicilian or calabrese for understend this

We will never hear this kind of amazing, god-given voices and see their smiling faces again. Rest in peace

even if this isn't your taste in music, you cannot deny their talent and skill. not just 'belting out a tune' but having the breathing control to make it perfect.

Look at the violin player with the moustache between Pavarotti and Carreras. He is loving this as much as anyone in the audience.

I used to watch this as a kid with my mom. It became such a sweet memory. I pop here from time to time , when I miss her ❤️‍🩹

For someone that has never been into this kind of music its fantastic 😊

I love when Plácido Domingo and José Carreras have to team up to take on the powerhouse voice of Luciano Pavarotti...all of them are amazing

They realized they needed both voices at once to even begin to come close to match his single tone. And THAT'S why he's the king. R.i.p.

I think that Flamingo guy or someone was considered the king when it comes to the voice. Luciano Pavarotti just had his own swag.

This really is pure gold. Such incredible voices, and the fact that they're not taking themselves too seriously and making a bit of sport of it just makes this all the more enjoyable.

I remember watching this at home. Mom was overwhelmed with tears. Now that I am older I understand. Music with so many emotions
