Unfortunately, Keymer will always struggle against Nodirbek. Same thing happened in their match at the Prague masters. Vincent used some "short term" big brain tactics to plant a monster knight on Nodirbek's side of the board. But Nodirbek saw what was happening and "played around that knight". That knight never played any role in the game after that. Nodirbek is just too smart. In this game too, Keymer moved his bishop to b2 where it had no business and then moved it back empty handed.

Re7 by white should have been thought of when black queen was at c7, in my opinion. Thanks for the competitive game.

I'm going to call it. Nodirbek is going to be the next big star. Firouzja is like Reshevski, incredible young prodigy, but his legacy is just a "he was a pretty good player but not even one of the best of his generation"

2:12 A really interesting move there instead of Ne1 would have been Nb5!? offering a piece to get two connected passed pawns, and the engine actually doesn't hate this idea for White. Black would be technically better after accepting the sacrifice, yes, but the engine only gives an advantage of -0.6, and in many lines it recommends that black give back a piece for the two passed pawns and just be up a pawn. Nb5!? definitely would have been a very interesting sacrifice and created a very interesting and complicated position.

Lovely insight. Though it's not too complicated for black to handle it. He can just castle and take care of the backrank/promotion.
