Great review! Nice that you chose integrity over opportunity in waiting to post your review. I just bought a brand new 5th Gen. Although I was very interested in hearing about the new 6th Gen, and am quite impressed with the upgrades, I think I’ll drive my tried and true 2024 model a few years.

I have a 4th Gen, the 6th Gen does give 4th Gen vibes in some angles not complaining. Being able to order an overlander almost ready for overlanding from the factoryn is a big deal. Now it's a TRD pro vs Trailhunter, hard choice.

I gotta say, the new colors, Everest and Mudbath are both incredible and the fact it's still made in Japan is great. However, that 4 Cylinder still makes me skeptical 🫤 I hope it's reliable.

This is easily my favorite video you have produced. It doesn't have anything to do with it being the new 4runner though. You're really coming into your own when it comes to KZread in my opinion. You seem very comfortable, share knowledge in a concise and straightforward manner, great personality for being on camera, and aren't afraid to share some of your personal opinions (like you did close to the end of this video). Really well done. As for the vehicle, The styling I think is really better than any of the horrific pre-renderings that we saw.. very pleased with the styling. But no 4 cylinder 4runner for me. Power is one factor of a 4runner engine that matters, not the only thing. We have absolutely no clue what the durability is going to look like on these four-cylinder engines. Maybe they will turn out fantastic, But I'm not going to be the guinea pig to give it a shot. I own a 4th gen and next time around I will own a 5th gen.

This feels like a big jumping point. Do you want the modern hybrid 4x4 or old school? The 5th gen still had a foot in the old and the 6th gen is barely connected except in appearance. The IforceMax is powerful. The 70 series is using it now and people have already compared it to the V8 diesel and it's superior in almost all the numbers.

I have a 21 Tacoma paid off so I'm not doing a auto loan thing again lol I'm sure I will see alot of 4 runner content on KZread I will enjoy it here. If the current 4 runner registration $700 I'm thinking the new one will be $1,000 easy.

The 6th gen looks good, but I keep thinking our old 4.7 V8s will still be motoring around long after these newer models with their more highly stressed small engines, and all the electronic engine controls will be out of commission.

I have to admit that I am not a fan of the look of the new six GEN. It looks like it’s squished to me. The headlights look like they are squinting and everything else seems to be squat - very similar to the Bronco. One of the things that really does bother me is the dial for the gears. I miss the stick shift and it seems that it would be too easy to somehow bump the dial. That also goes for all the buttons on the lower part of the consul. It would be far too easy to accidentally slam something down on those buttons without meaning to. Those are the things that I want up and out of the way so that I can change them when I want to change them and not because something fell on it enroute. I’m glad they kept the rear hatch window going down but it looks like they put some sort of fender type thing on the side of the window, making it look square or a straight line rectangle. I want the whole thing to open. And nine different versions? Seriously?

It has to do with power density. A high horse power small engine is more power dense which typically doesn’t last as long or is complicated to maintain. N/A v8 with low power and makes power low in rpm band is better than high rpm to make power . I too have the v8 with 203k as of today.
