They did everything right, *except* not having a NA V6 option. No turbo 4-cyl on the earth will last as long as an NA V6.

If you warm up and cool down the engine before and after every time you use the car and change your engine oil every 3k miles it will last for a very long time

So glad I got the 2024 4Runner Limited last weekend. ‘Not waiting for a 4-cylinder SUV regardless of massive “torque” specs increase. Thanks for the insight.
Great review! Nice that you chose integrity over opportunity in waiting to post your review. I just bought a brand new 5th Gen. Although I was very interested in hearing about the new 6th Gen, and am quite impressed with the upgrades, I think I’ll drive my tried and true 2024 model a few years.

Thanks George! I think you made a great choice, people are going to start to really appreciate the 5th gen as time goes on
I have a 4th Gen, the 6th Gen does give 4th Gen vibes in some angles not complaining. Being able to order an overlander almost ready for overlanding from the factoryn is a big deal. Now it's a TRD pro vs Trailhunter, hard choice.
Great review! Love that you’re still rocking a 4th Gen!
I appreciate your viewpoint always.! Keep it up!
I gotta say, the new colors, Everest and Mudbath are both incredible and the fact it's still made in Japan is great. However, that 4 Cylinder still makes me skeptical 🫤 I hope it's reliable.
I love Toyota's simplicity, and durability. like the Kei trucks with dump bed, way better than other brands.
This is easily my favorite video you have produced. It doesn't have anything to do with it being the new 4runner though. You're really coming into your own when it comes to KZread in my opinion. You seem very comfortable, share knowledge in a concise and straightforward manner, great personality for being on camera, and aren't afraid to share some of your personal opinions (like you did close to the end of this video). Really well done. As for the vehicle, The styling I think is really better than any of the horrific pre-renderings that we saw.. very pleased with the styling. But no 4 cylinder 4runner for me. Power is one factor of a 4runner engine that matters, not the only thing. We have absolutely no clue what the durability is going to look like on these four-cylinder engines. Maybe they will turn out fantastic, But I'm not going to be the guinea pig to give it a shot. I own a 4th gen and next time around I will own a 5th gen.

You're right. I'll forever love my '03 V8
I came here for my 6th gen debut. I’m intrigued but will wait 3 years to see how they play out.
Great video! I dig the look of the new TRD Pro! Don't like the Mud color but the White will be stunning! I also really like the big beefy tires, the aggressive stance and the interior. Can't wait to see them in the wild this fall.
I really like the look from the front and side. Kinda reminds me of a RAM or Durango front end. Im not a huge fan of the back but the departure angle looks good.
True, gotta go out and vote for the right party
It’s a good looking rig, I’m partial to the TRD version, like the color mud bath- on another note, my 2017 Tacoma 4x4 (quicksand), built in Mexico is honestly really well put together and really on par with our Japan built 2001 4Runner- both are really great quality
4runner powered in Mexico 🇲🇽.... no thank 😂😅
If they do have a manual I’ll buy one after college and have it for 20 years. I’d have to get one with color match fenders though, the black looks cheap. Otherwise I’ll buy a 3rd gen 5 speed or something with the 2uz.

I'd love to see a Pro or Trailhunter with the flares color matched
Still not a huge fan of that massive poorly-integrated touch screen, but overall I think it's really nice. The coloring on the interior is really really good, and the exterior is pretty mean-looking.
can you review the new 4 runner compare to 5 gen from overlanding perspective. departure angle? approach angle? ground clearance? cargo space? height of cargo area from floor to ceiling? length of cargo area? folded down. approach angle? departure angle? ground clearance?interior cargo space and height from floor of cargo area to ceiling.
Dude your truck is awesome. I'm looking for the bug deflector for my hood and I saw yours!!! Where did you got it??? I've been surfing the web without success!!!

Why no V6 option ? It's all about emissions for all of the industry dropping V8's and putting turbo's on everything. Love the look. Love my 2022 5th gen.

This feels like a big jumping point. Do you want the modern hybrid 4x4 or old school? The 5th gen still had a foot in the old and the 6th gen is barely connected except in appearance. The IforceMax is powerful. The 70 series is using it now and people have already compared it to the V8 diesel and it's superior in almost all the numbers.
Nice video bro but I love my 2005 4RUNNER V8 4WD LIMITED 162,000 miles 💪💪
Ok 4Runner being made in Japan that's what I wanted to hear. If it wasn't being made in Japan I would write it off
My first TOYOTA was a brand new 1987 4Runner with a 2.4l Engine 116 HP and off road tires ( Not winter tires) in Montreal. In Winter i would get 250 kms per 71liters of fuel...yikes! You come a long way TOYOTA but sort off kept the same engine. Will keep my 2017 Rav4 for as long as i can.
I'm pretty much on par with you on each item here. thanks for vid.

The 5th gen will be king. Yes the 25 hybrid will be fun to drive but I'm thinking about being able to work on your own truck etc. I like the old school feeling. I have a 21 Tacoma paid off so I'm not doing a auto loan thing again lol I'm sure I will see alot of 4 runner content on KZread I will enjoy it here. If the current 4 runner registration $700 I'm thinking the new one will be $1,000 easy.
I have a 1st gen Sequoia, and I really like the looks, which is why I would love to have a 4th gen 4runner. The 6th gen looks good, but I keep thinking our old 4.7 V8s will still be motoring around long after these newer models with their more highly stressed small engines, and all the electronic engine controls will be out of commission.

Leaked some photos oh no.. the new 4 Runner was going to be introduced anyway 😂 4 Runner built in Japan is gold!
Regarding early release ethics, I defer to my good pal and ask - WWC5ZD Great vid!
I have to admit that I am not a fan of the look of the new six GEN. It looks like it’s squished to me. The headlights look like they are squinting and everything else seems to be squat - very similar to the Bronco. One of the things that really does bother me is the dial for the gears. I miss the stick shift and it seems that it would be too easy to somehow bump the dial. That also goes for all the buttons on the lower part of the consul. It would be far too easy to accidentally slam something down on those buttons without meaning to. Those are the things that I want up and out of the way so that I can change them when I want to change them and not because something fell on it enroute. I’m glad they kept the rear hatch window going down but it looks like they put some sort of fender type thing on the side of the window, making it look square or a straight line rectangle. I want the whole thing to open. And nine different versions? Seriously?
Love it. Wish I could afford it. 😢
What do you think the start price is?
@CanadianGearhead

Here in Canada, I'm going to guess mid 50s? Based on the Tacoma TRD Offroad being around $60k
That's the reason I'll not buy 6th gen, I'll go for 5th gen, it's looks more cool and aggressive plus V6 is what i love..❤❤🎉
The Tundra engine without the turbo would have been perfect. Same goes for the land cruiser and the Tacoma!
I wish the 4Runner in the US could have the Landcruiser's diesel engine.

The short story is that rather than doing their own research, big websites like Forbes take content from experienced people like myself, spin it just enough to avoid plagiarism, and are then able to rank higher on Google due to their sheer size.

It has to do with power density. A high horse power small engine is more power dense which typically doesn’t last as long or is complicated to maintain. N/A v8 with low power and makes power low in rpm band is better than high rpm to make power . I too have the v8 with 203k as of today.
