The 2025 Hyundai Tucson Gets A Bolder Grille, Snazzier Interior, & Improved Hybrid Tech!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Hyundai's mid-cycle refresh is more involved than I had predicted. On the outside we get the usual re-styled grille and bumper tweaks that you'd expect, but inside we get a whole new dashboard design with Hyundai's latest 2-screen infotainemnt system, new steering wheels and shifters lifted from their EVs that make the interior space more functional, and we get tweaked hybrids and plug in hybrids with more powerful for better EV mode performance and smoother operation. We don't know pricing yet, but we should soon since these are going on sale "this summer."

I bought the Tucson Hybrid last year and couldn't have been more impressed Smooth, powerful and efficient enough, it never gave me a day of trouble. Traded it for a Vette Z06

@@JohnLee-db9zt You can't read, he traded the Tucson for the Z06
After a crash that totaled my car and I rented a Hyundai Kona, I looked at other brands and after weeks of looking, Tucson PHEV is for me, design, comfort, power when you need it and practical cargo, I am leasing the new design when is out!
Look wise ...this is amazing... especially the c pliiar where the quater panel has this X sort of design where the rear windshield and side back window matches
The side profile of the Tuscon reminds me so much of a Lamborghini Urus! Overall, great improvements. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Hyundai and Kia really do kill it with design. They make the neatest looking cars inside and out and are super premium. Love this new updated Tucson, love the new Kia K4 (wow) and so on. Even the upcoming Kia Carnival van is gorgeous! I would have easily went back to Kia and Hyundai (I trade in every 2-3 years on a new car) except for 1 reason. They have so many recalls and seem to have a lot of engine issues and fire risk issues. More and more pop up even on newer models. Just a little scary to me. But I must say they make the best looking vehicles with premium features, premium materials, great prices, long warranty and so on. I hope the recalls and fire risk start to go away for them.
Absolutely love the lower headlights trend on CUVs. PLEASE keep it coming.

I'll be interested in this vehicle once they put the rear turn signals up to a point that they are seeable by those around. Putting them down so low on the rear of the vehicle don't enhance form, function or safety.
LIke the refreshed interior--my only knock is the steering wheel needs to feel/look more 'truckish', other than that, way better than the previous interior.
didn't realize they had different dash designs for hybrids. Wish they do the same to the refreshed sorento hybrids
I am not sure why Hyundai has a XRT model but not much off road use. Especially Subaru Forester may have a Hybrid model in 2 years. I think the hybrid will be a popular choice for many people.
Did I miss the upgraded power output figure ? What is the increased electric power ?

For the PHEV it's 268 up from 261.
This was looking interesting until Alex got to the driver monitor. If that's not a deletable option, then we have a deal-breaker. Side note: the T-handle shifter as an option is a different plus.
Putting the 12V battery in the trunk is something I appreciate because of temperature moderation. In cars where the battery is in the engine bay, my experience is that the battery dies in 6-8 years. Whereas in my car with the battery in the trunk, the battery lasted 11 years.

Do you think it could have anything to do with the fact that most vehicles with rear batteries are more expensive and have better batteries?

I've been considering the Tucson PHEV for a while now, but pricing is now at ~40K, which is a hefty premium and it was not eligible for any tax credits. With such pricing, I'd probably get a regular hybrid, and likely not the Tucson.

Does the new phev have a heat pump system to heat the cabin? That's one of the issues on the phev that doesn't allow it to stay in Ev mode when it's cold.

I looked at this model this year - but the electronic interior scares me. Consumer Reports customers report tremendous reliablity problems with it. The Theta II engine also has problems before 100,000 miles. I know they plan to leave the Theta II engine soon if not already, but I stay away from new engine designs for at least four years from any manufacturer, not just Hyundai. Bought the ancient Mazda CX-5 instead which I know will last for 200,000 with few problems. Still own a 2013 Subaru Legacy with 145,000 on it doing well and a 2018 Buick Envision with nearly 84,000 that is fine too. Buying older tech has served me well on numerous car brands that build good cars after a few years.

Generally I prefer the starter battery to be up front with the engine. When you have to trickle charge your starter battery, it's just more convenient in my opinion to have the cables running to the hood rather than through a small gap from the tailgate.

@@davewilson7602 1. There is only a positive terminal. Ground has no terminal, but there is a ground spot to clip onto. 2. You should never try to boost with a hybrid. Their 12v batteries are too tiny as they only serve to turn on accessories, not crank an engine.

I’m disappointed. They didn’t change what needed changing (turn lights in the bumper; the body creases) and they changed the things that worked well (the grill, dashboard, the shifter, the cohesive interior styling language). WTF? Hyundai design is going downhill.

This interior design is so much better than the old one idk what you knock it for. The body creases and bumper lights are intentional change so they won’t change it. Plus 7/10 people wouldn’t care because it’s exterior stuff anyways
