The “auto-shift out of park” only puts you in forward or backward gear when leaving the parking space. It isn’t supposed to shift again in the opposite gear when you’re done backing out 👍🏼

To the contrary, there is an incoming update where it will shift gears depending on whether reverse is then needed or drive, i.e. pulling up to your drive and angling the car, then reversing on to the drive. The Tesla will select the gears with the update for you

​@cellman1829 They say that but some of thr parts literally have Highland in the name so it absolutely was called Highland internally.

The Model 3 RWD for $39K is a much better value, IMO. It's still peppy with 0-60 mph in 5.8 secs. Plenty of great standard features like heated/cooled seats, pano sunroof. Just no premium audio. And it has a LFP battery which means you can charge it everyday to 100% and not worry degradation. And 272 mi range is sufficient for most people.

I have the new dual and my wife the RWD. Both 2024. I agree with your comment. RWD is excellent. The sound system despite having less speakers is excellent too. Top tier sound. Here in Quebec, the 7k incentive is quite high when combining with the federal one of 5k. Add the 3k rebate from TESLA, it’s quite a deal! I would say anyone who hesitates and does not want crazy acceleration the RWD is fine and drives beautifully.

Great review! 100 % agree this vehicle should have a front cluster at this point. Make it an option. I'm sure most people would opt for it. This was the primary reason I upgraded to a model S. Much better experience.

The difference between this car and my 2018 long range 3 is ridiculous! It’s a completely different car in every way.

Ordered an AWD with white interior 2 days after release. Resigned myself to a RWD at the end of March because I was tired of waiting. Great car but not what I really wanted. Yesterday I ordered the new Performance model and with the EV tax credit and Tesla's offer I am now thrilled the way it worked out. I wanted the Stealth Gray at first but took an Ultra Red in March and sticking with the Red. So for a couple of extra bucks I could not be happier.

Did you place your order before Tesla raised the price on the performance by $1,000? I believe now if you order the performance model with red paint, you don't qualify for the federal incentive of $7,500.

I think that's actually a very common thing cause I have maybe only seen 1 out of many new Tesla Model 3's that have that aligned properly/perfectly.

I thought the LR had a 75 kWh battery pack？

It's the auto brake regen that can't be disabled is what is a dealbreaker for me. I just have never gotten how used to how aggressive the auto regen braking on Teslas are. I like the fact that all other electric cars I've driven so far let me disable it.

The acoustic glass is reducing outside sounds. That was why when you honked your horn it sounded distant.

my hot take, i prefer the styling of the old one (both inside and out). the new one feels colder and more devoid of personality. also the removal of the stalks is a huge no-no for me. the ambient lighting is cool though, i'll give them that.

I wish you could capture the reactions from other drivers and pedestrians while driving the exotic cars.

I know a lot of people waiting for the Ludacris. Mostly people who have had the M3 for years now and really just want to step up what they already like. Are they conservative? Yes, but in their minds the Ludacris is exciting.

Some flaws that detrayed me from getting one is the regen braking and basic interior and road noise. Otherwise decent economy car option

Was a fan of Tesla and the new model 3 specifically until I saw BMW’s series 4 upcoming lineup. 8-10k more and you’re getting far better interior and exterior quality, more speed and power, storage and longevity. EVs still have a long way to go, gas vehicles were and still are just so superb man

Not the biggest fan of this vehicle But you gotta admit does seem like a decent daily

Just buy this and don’t expect to trade it in. Keep driving until it breaks, if the battery fails after the warranty then it’s up to the person to replace it or junk it. For me, I would just lease it and drive it to work and around town while I use a Prius for interstate and across country driving. Then use a Porsche or an Alfa as a weekend toy. There you go, a setup if you have a house and garage.

@@cellman1829 go sit in a brand new bmw and let me know what feels more special. My guy, u don't even have a HUD or gauge cluster screen. Most bland basic interior ever. I've seen them on the road and been in one nothing is head turning or makes u feel like ur in something special or expensive.

@@DerekDavis213 Yes and no... 2024 Corolla XLE $28.945 2024 Model 3 $38,990 2024 Model Y $34,340 ($41.840 before Tax Credit) The interiors are subjective, the ipad gives all the info you would get from a normal dash. Lower maintenance and fuel costs narrow the gap as well. While I agree it's not apples to apples, its getting close. If Tesla made a compact model that you could buy rather than just ride in (robotaxi) I think they could be on par price wise. Tesla's average cost to build per vehicle last quarter was down to $36k. Toyota is making a profit on there cars as well. Curious, have you driven a Model 3?

It is good car. But demand of EV vehicles are decreasing day by day.EV is too much costly than that of fossil fuel(example:petrol, diesel,octane) based car.

Still no HUD (HUD is just the safest way to drive) and what happens if one misplaces, lose or have their phone stolen? And having to turn your head for all the information is just calling for accidents.

Agreed. Teslas are NOT luxury vehicles, they are "premium" technology vehicles with emphasis on their software, charging network, and EV driving experience. I hope Tesla lowers the price back to $45k and get it to qualify for the US federal EV tax credit cause the new Model 3 LR version is too overpriced imo.

it looks worse than 2023. Car looked dirty from the jump even though its brand new. Also looks more "practical" and less sporty that sucks

To me Tesla 3 is a boring car.Boring design and it only sells because of its software ! There are more exciting EV designs on the market like VW ID 4 /5 ,Ford Mustang EV, Kia,Renault Scenic etc.
