The remove of indicator stalks is borderline a dealbreaker. And even when they placed the buttons, they did so so terribly. Right indicator should be on the right of the steering wheel and left one on the left, just like in Ferraris. Having them on top of each other is so dumb.

@@OmarZ77 I have one and it took about 2 minutes to get used to. I love change - doesn't phase me in the slightest. Give it a crack - I feel confident that you'll nail it in 2-5 minutes, and then prefer it to having to take your hands off the wheel to indicate. I honestly prefer it now.

@@Berretotube I did try it. It fails at the first roundabout or quick turns. I don’t have to take my hands off the wheel for stalks-just raise a finger. It’s most definitely a step backwards. You make too much sense if they wanted to innovate. Here, it’s not innovation, it’s cost cutting. Tesla needs to pump out numbers to stay relevant and if that means cutting corners, so be it. Its the same reason why there is no heads up display or even a dash screen for the driver. It’s cheaper to make one harness for the screen that controls everything vs having to wire buttons and stalks and such like a traditional car.

@@daflipbizkitYou have to realize that Tesla is constantly pushing prices down (they really want parity with ICE cars).. Look at the prices for German EV's, they are significantly higher compared to Tesla.. Ask yourself if you want a HUD or a car cheaper by a couple grand..

Because it would be no different At a full half then the left indicator would then be on the right side of the wheel, and vice versa With both being on the left hand side, you simply just adjust your right thumb position if for example, indicating right, leading into a turn where the wheel is at a full half turn, then if you need to indicate left to come off the roundabout it’s a simple flick to the right with your right thumb. It’s really that simple it took my less than five minutes to get used to on a test drive

Ha, the blue with white interior and 18 inches wheels is the one I would go for. Tried the car and I was not annoyed at all by the turn signal, even on (quite a few) roundabouts: just remember that your "exit signal" is always the one for the right and that it's positioned on the upper part of the branch. This way, even without looking, I made zero mistakes.

I have same option regarding HUD. This should have been fitted in M3 with the facelift. And after 3 months of ownership im still prefering indicator stalks. The ACC is not so good either, it is very sensitive to oncoming traffic when driving on regular roads. The ACC has several times scared me by hard breaking when trailers have passed me on oncoming side of the road. These hard brakes can lead to people crashing into me from behind aswell.. So i have more or less stopped using it on regular roads. I only use it on highway where it works like intended. I'd expected it to be better, my previous car did never these sudden brakes, and it was from 2009...

It's funny that you mention the Porsche design elements, Thomas. I've always thought that the Tesla design language was Porsche inspired. The turbine style alloy wheels on their earlier cars also seemed to be very much derivative of the VW B6 Passat, Scirocco, and CC wheels. No doubt that good design gets emulated. Funny story - when the new Macan EV came out, I showed a picture of it to a friend of mine, and he said, "Oh, that looks like a Model Y. They copied Tesla." 🙂

They won't even bother buying petrol "supercar" or tune their cars, because they won't switch back.... Every car would feel slow after such experience... and it is family-friendly, huge trunk, frunk, and all other nice things you won't have in petrol tuned loud car. It is that simple.

The autopilot, the safety features, the comfort and the range is amazing. The RWD Highland seems to have a better range than my previous 75KWh battery. Also I can now charge to 100% all the time, because of the LFP batteries. Heated steering wheel, route noise levels are extremely low and Matrix lights, to name a few. Computer screen in the back works very nicely. Also I love how Tesla updated their software over the air regular. 4 Years warranty. 8 years on the battery and powertrain. The Zeekr X AWD looks really nice, but only 400 km range vs 513 km RWD Model 3 ? That seems low to me. What about the service, I never had a complain on this on the Tesla? And for long trips, the supercharger network works flawless. The Tesla's has an integrated NAV system that tells automatically where to stop (it even knows how many stalls are free, how much you need to charge to reach your next Tesla charger stall or destination). No need to open an app to enable the charging, or find the next charger on the road trip. Plus there are enough superchargers to never get into trouble.

Thank you for your nice explain.. my girlfriend wanted SUV height car , that's why I considered The Zeekr X AWD.. but I agree with you that the driving experience is much better on the new Tesla model 3 RWD.. and I agree that standard range is super quality and quick.

Correct, the Model 3 doesn’t give that. I had 2 generations BMW X3 series. It took awhile to adjust to height, as you said. But it is just a mindset you are used to. The only I miss, the ability to load large items, a 5th door is beneficial in some cases. But efficiency is much better on a low height car. It is all a matter of compromise and the stuff I mentioned in my previous message.

Quality, performance , effeciency and equipment levels are all best in class and in particular when considering the price! Only negative is the blinker buttons where a stalk is so much better in European roundabouts. I do know Teslas reason is that all these cars are prepared hardware wise to be fully self driving and thaat function will be a over the air software update in the future..... But gove us the stalk back until FSD is level 5 and available globally.

The Full power is available for only a limited time. So it is not available if you drive fast in a circuit or if you drive uphill on a mountain street. This is because the inverter is getting hot and the power is therefore limited and in addition the power is not available at maximum rate when the battery level is decreasing below a certain threshold. In addition we should be aware that in a single Gear configuration the power available is a function of the speed of the car and NOT, as in the thermal car, a function of the revs of the engine which can always work, by changing gears, close to the highest power !! Translated into facts if you make a turn at 50 km/h and then you full press accelerator in electric car you may have (without considering the heat limitation on inverter) 25 % of nominal power in an EV whilst in a thermal car by putting in 2 gear or even 1 gear you have more than 80 of power. The same will apply in the hiway if you accelerate from 80 km/h to maximum speed.

I regret to inform potential buyers in the US at least that the fit and finish issues the Freemont factory has become notorious for are still atrocious and mine has at least 4 dings and dents and a scratch over the charge port. I knew this was a potential risk going in and I'm still extremely pleased with the engineering and powertrain of the vehicle, but Jesus Christ it's utterly baffling how a car company this large is still delivering vehicles with what seems to be practically no body QC going on at all. Service under warranty is later this week, so we'll see how that goes.

Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. I also bought cars with animal skin leather seats before I did my research and got to know the industry. The most important thing is: With today's modern materials, you have nothing to lose, just to gain. You achieve the same kind of luxury and comfort or even better while having the same or better durability with less impact on humans, animals and the environment. You can use fabric/cloth, microfibre or leatherette. The classic approach is using oil/plastic as source material. Overall, a vehicle contains about 300 kg plastic. A car seat needs about 5 kg plastic. So the overall plastic share for the seats is very low and it is at this moment the most efficient way to produce a car seat. A couple of litres of fuel equals a car seat basically. So if you want to save oil/plastic, rather look at consumption for energy, fuel and heating and to other car parts than the seat. Note that animal skin leather also always contains a plastic coating for durability. However, long-term we should of course find raw oil alternatives. So going further, seats can be made from recyclables (e.g. from PET-bottles or old fishing nets) or even increased share of plant-based materials (like pine oil, canola oil or start-up materials like Pinatex from pineapple leaves or Desertex from cactus fibre or the mixed-plant-based Mirum, so be seen at kzread.info/dash/bejne/hWWVsLyen8Tanag.html). On a calculation base, by ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) % (www.press.bmwgroup.com/africa-dom-easteurope/article/detail/T0403389EN/on-the-market-from-2023:-bmw-and-mini-models-with-vegan-interiors?language=en) - and that is a very conservative calculation. So it is at this moment the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable. A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensafin: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y6SGsM2QadHYoto.html And the Kia EV9 with plant-based oil share: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aKqMx7KKmcKzcc4.html New leatherette materials can be superior in every aspect, even for cleaning: kzread.info/dash/bejne/p21ou7qDZ5W7hKQ.html More and more natural materials are rising: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oIaH1bp-ntqudNI.html Also check out what the animal skin leather industry tried to with our channel: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oISTpdiFnMSsnKw.html For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pp-epaOmoZTFaKg.html Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally. Also a group of researchers and German journalists from public media could recent directly trace the connection between car animal leather production and illegal burning down Amazon rain forest: www.daserste.de/information/reportage-dokumentation/ard-story/videos/illegales-leder-video-100.html In a high animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat is the "first" misuse case, the hide remains a profitable body part. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you demand it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and harms the environment, you make them more profitable. Alternatively, you could support industries with your wallet which try to improve the sustainability of materials. Also, if you turn the argument around to "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize that it doesn't make sense (and is ethically doubtful) to discuss the primary use of individual body parts of mammals. Mind experiment: You are getting slain down on the street; would it matter to you if it was for your smartphone or for your purse? Remember that animal skin leather is no different to fur, fur is just leather where the hair is still on. And fur is widely not accepted for clothing anymore, and of course not for cars. We cannot change what we have bought in the past, but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future. For a great insight into sustainability in the automotive industry, you can also check out our extensive documentary: kzread.info/dash/bejne/X2ybsLqlgqrUl6Q.html
