I remember when Doug Demuro did his first Plaid review. He said it was quite possibly the best all-around car ever made. I'm an owner and I think it is. It just does everything.
Wrong info regarding Full Self Driving. Subscription at $99/month is a new option. People who own it still fully own it. The full price is $8000.

The acceleration is crazy, watching a video does NOT compare to real life at all you really need to experience it to really appreciate it.
It’s crazy, I’ve been looking for a video like this for over six months. Keep posting greatness

So great to hear! Thanks for the encouragement.
Fun fact: The average person fills up their gasoline car once a week, and it takes about 5 minutes. 5 minutes times 52 weeks equals 260 minutes a year. That's 4 hours and 20 minutes a year standing next to a gas ⛽. I'm never going back to gasoline.
@t-banan

5 minutes to tank gas?🤣
@TheMadmax0609
7 күн бұрын
@@t-banan Cut it down to 3 minutes if you want. Do the math.. that's still a long time every year. People who get gas wait longer to fill up than people who charge their car. 100% fact.
@t-banan
7 күн бұрын
@@TheMadmax0609 Definitely not true, it takes max 2 minutes for me to fill my Volvo xc70 2.5 D5, and on a full tank i can drive 800KM + you will charge your little toy car more than twice for that distance, and it will take you several hours. Theres your math.
@TheMadmax0609
7 күн бұрын
@@t-banan It's impossible to fill up a gasoline car in two minutes because you're not taking into consideration the drive time to the gas station, pulling up to the pump, grabbing your credit card, swiping it and entering your ZIP code and then standing there, next to your car... Waiting. I've had electric cars for over 4 years and I've never stood next to them waiting for them to fill up, not once. If you think getting gas, waiting for oil changes and dealership maintenance visits are more convenient than plugging your car in when you get home you're not very bright. Think of it this way, how long does it take for you to plug your phone in before you go to bed? How's your math now? 👈😘

The Model S is the best car of the both world !! Super practical looks super cool and wide, very slick nice designs!!!
You have a profile memory so when you in your vehicle its know it is you and set the sit, steering wheel, mirror to your liking. And you can turn on auto cancel turn signal.

I never really understood the criticism of adjusting mirrors and steering wheel via the screen. You do that one single time when you get the car and then maybe a couple of times after for adjustments. That’s it. The upshot is that the profile is saved and can be applied to any other model S if need be.
@WhatisaLee
12 күн бұрын
The criticism stems from not understanding what improvements were gained from making the switch from physical to digital controls. Seems like the primary motivation is cost-cutting under the guise of innovation; but it cannot be innovative if it solves a non-existent problem. And this issue is irrespective of frequency of use because it is a concession regardless. Of course, digital controls are not without their merits. There are certain functions such as navigation that would not work without a screen. But as more functions are relegated to the screen, the less intuitive all of its functions become due to the increasing complexity. (As an aside, the upshot of saving profiles can be implemented regardless of interface and doesn't necessarily invalidate the use of physical controls for the functions you mentioned.)
@Sadjina
12 күн бұрын
@@WhatisaLee all fair points, and with respect to many other functions that usually are solved using physical buttons and switches etc. I absolutely understand the criticism. Just not with steering wheel and mirrors. I just don’t get how that is a big deal, but maybe I’m the weird one (fully possible).
We have a 2023 Tesla Model X Plaid and overall, it's a sensational car to live with as daily transportation. While I got acquainted to the stalkless indicator buttons on the yoke (love the yoke btw) and auto shift from park pretty quickly, that exhilarating acceleration from just about any speed is something I've learned to enjoy as a perk of EV ownership in general and Tesla Plaid ownership specifically. Along with our Model 3, they're just SO east to live with that the only negative I can come up with is that we waited so long to make the switch and could have enjoyed this lifestyle a long time ago.
Strongly considering the LR. I just don’t see myself needing 2.1s vs 2.9s or 163mph top speed vs 144mph for an additional $14k. I love power and speed but where I live I will have a tough time opening up the LR more or less the Plaid.
Love you and family Your the best Makes me think you must be a wee bit Scottish 😉 ❤

will you ever do something like this with the model x?
@MilesPerHr

Sure!
If you paid the full price for FSD you 100% never need to pay to use it. Its basically a stock feature of your car that you can use whenever. The subscription is a new thing that is an alternative to instead paying the full price of FSD. Its like leasing vs buying a car. If you buy a car the compnay wont make you lease the car on top of it to use the car 😂
i would say it was faster then 2.19 seconds as the speed in speedometer in car and gps wasn not going same, gps was but delayed to catch the speed
22:06 Haha I thought 30 minutes sounded high.

Honestly evs are fast and all but they just dont have the, the thing that makes me like real cars, gas cars. I dont really care about its performance sometimes, if it keeps me on time, it works.

Bruh, that's with home charging. Wherein the charge rate is limited and you can limit the charging to 80% like he did. If you wanted to you could stop at a supercharger and get 0-100% in 30m, which is 359 miles. And this is the plaid version of the car (like the normal but ridiculously fast, 0-60 in 1.9s), if you get the standard Model S which is 66k, you get 400 miles of range in 30m of charging. Oh and it still hits 0-60 in 3s lol.

My friend has a 2019 s plaid with 180k and nothing has happened.
@XxViciousxX

Well if that happens it will be under warranty. If you get past 150k you'd have to replace the battery out of pocket. But let's not pretend that cars in its price range engines are cheap. Most are 20-50k depending on the car. Plus most of them couldn't make it to 100k without big issues anyway.
