Thanks for guiding an old boarder into finding his new deck. I resisted all winter and waited for an end of winter deal... board just got delivered but since snow is gone (living in the Laurentians mountains in Quebec) i now have to stare at my board until next season gets here... Thanks to you mister Angry! (My old Ride Fuel will get jealous next year!)

Freeride dream indeed! Have been riding this the past season and from icy moguls to 3' of pow, it has consistently been locked in and ready to rock. Definitely everything I wanted in a freeride board and so much more, the local shop hit it out of the park with recommending it.

So for everyone commenting on the wide version, I did a comparison between a 163W Prototype (yeah I know, I don't care, I like it), a 158W Jib Saw and a 160W Berzerker. The Jib Saw was about 275 across the base at the reference stance both front and back, Prototype was about the same at 276 front and back. The Berzerker was about 267 at the front binding and 265 under the back binding so it is about 10 mm narrower under foot. Considering the width difference between a standard 157 Jibsaw and a 158W Jibsaw is a pretty consistent 10mm at the nose, waist and tail it does make me feel like this is actually pretty close to a standard width board, maybe mid-wide at best.

so just picked up the last seasons model for half off from Christie sports, because that is how cheap I am, and this is an honorable mention, and i appreciate that the review is in relation to the Rome Black labels, but have been unable to find the link that references other comparable bindings that would excel on this deck. I went ahead and got the Cartels because they were cheap and sellilng out,, but would be curious what a newer review might say with respect to the latest and greatest in bindings.

PRO: The good reviews are accurate. Rode all this season on chop, smooth, moguls, mashed potatoes, and ice ice ice all with no problem. Quick, responsive, and cuts “like a ginsu” as @davesakolinsky mentioned. Can bomb and carve down the hill with authoritah. CON: It IS a stiff camber. It grips super hard on the front and back. Butters and spinnies on the snow on off jumps will demand more calculated effort. So consider this with your preferred riding style. Have fun! Be safe! =]

Hi, I demoed Burton's Deep Thinker a few days back, liked it enough so that was almost buying it already, now I saw this review and am messed up, do I want the Berzerker instead? How do these compare (turning, edge hold, snap, aggressiveness in general)? Would be mostly using to carve local groomers at moderate speeds, in typically suboptimal conditions (icy and/or slush).

Maybe too much, this is what I was trying ask in the first place. You see it'a a bit hard to position myself in relation to hard charging all terrain dominating guy, and whether the same board that is good for them, would be bad for me. And that's why I hoped you would be able comment on this vs Deep Thinker, that I had recent experience with, and liked way better for what I'm doing than my current one. Thus i'm inclined to think that my current board (Salomon Surface from 13 years back, used to be traditional camber then, but quite soft) is way to mellow for my liking, and want to buy something "more of a board". I do plan to keep my old one as my second board for the lazy cruising days tho.

@@michalbrzezinski2958 I always ride stiff, aggressive, camber-dominant boards. For me, this one is easier to engage than others in my quiver, perhaps due to the narrower width. If you're an intermediate or rely on your back leg for turning, this is not the board for you. 167cm is A LOT of board to muscle around. You need to truly understand how to engage turns with correct technique, otherwise you'll be worn out after a few runs. If you're just a casual rider, I'd look at an intermediate level board, which will be cheaper to buy as well. Gnu Antigravity and Libtech Dynamo are more forgiving boards for somebody learning turn technique, but still high performance.

OK now I'm going to blow your mind, stop looking at waist width and start looking at insert width. If you need a rudimentary formula for that Take the tip width - waist width. Take that number and divide it by 2. Take that number and add it back to the waist width and roughly not accounting for sidecut, traction tech, etc. that's roughly the width at the inserts.

No, all you're doing is impeding learning fundamentals and forcing yourself to not get better while adapting bad habits. Get shit that fits your needs. I see people like you all the time with gear WAY beyond your skill level floundering around in terrain WAY beyond your skill level and then bitching and moaning about how it's the equipment, conditions, terrain, and not a lack of fundamentals. You think Shaun White started on the highest end snowboard out there? Hell you even think he rides the highest end board now? He doesn't. Get your shit together and stop being a fucking kook. This has been my SHRED Talk.

I've been riding this board since 2022 in the PNW and yet to see someone else on the hill who owns one. One of the most under rated/under marketed boards out there. Have you found anything that is as quick and damp as it in 2024?
