    We have highways with an 85 MPH speed limit here in Texas. Kind of makes the "Max 75 MPH" reporting system a bit wonky.

American car designers is that they feel the need (or are given direction) to keep something of the looks-DNA going so to not completely disenfranchise their existing customer base (while at the same time trying to attract new customers). What if you live in a snowy state and have to get up and down slushy, slippery hills in the snow? Your"report card" would show tons of stability-control and ABS events, and also wouldn't allow you to shut stability control off to rock the car back and forth! Seems like this system would become a hindrance where I live!

  • @GCoda

    @GCoda

    José antonio Sandoval Sure, but this just a useless idea nevertheless with no real benefit, if you want to listen music why chilling on the parking parking lot you will have to put seat belts too, bullshit

  • 8 жыл бұрын

    Евгений Фуко No real benefit? I wouldn't be so sure about that. Most teens don't use seatbelts not because they're uncomfortable but because they don't look cool. And I as a parent would love to know that my car is actually making it hard for my son to be a "badass" and forcing him to drive safely instead. That doesn't sound useless to me.

  • @GCoda

    @GCoda

    8 жыл бұрын

    José antonio Sandoval How more badass he would look if he can bypass that limitation while still looking cool? He will accept this challenge and will be proud of beating it. Some cars will play annoying sound if seat belts dont locked, and people here, in Ukraine, dont use them at all, some of them really proud of "beating the system" by putting somekind of card in seatbelt lock

    This system has so many fatal flaws… If you want to tailgate? Cant turn the music on because the seat-belts aren't in. Stuck in the snow? You're screwed because you can't disable the traction control

  • @skifree0

    @skifree0

    8 жыл бұрын

    +orange9035 How does traction control affect being stuck in the snow. If you are stuck no amount of excess power that is limited by traction control can get you out. it may even help, by limiting the amount of torque applied to the wheels you can possibly regain more traction. Traction control is actually designed to help you when you in situations like being stuck in snow, since your wheels cannot regain the traction to get the car out of it's spot. Every winter, I've had no situation where I had to disable traction control, and toronto does recieve its fair share of snow.

  • @orange9035

    @orange9035

    8 жыл бұрын

    +iamterence77 I'm saying a situation like this: if you have a steep driveway or a hill that you need to get up and it's snowy. Some cars (I've never driven a Chevy, so I can't say for this) have traction control that is so sensitive, if the wheels start losing traction, it'll cut the power by so much that the car eventually just stops moving. Disabling the traction control will disable that power reduction and can allow you to power up the hill. This is in Pittsburgh where it's hills and snow all over the place.

    Being that I work for Chevrolet, YES! It's not about caring though, its about options that would appeal to customers. If a mother was looking for a vehicle focused on safety, with that being based on the fact of her teenager driving the car as well, she is more apt to purchase the Malibu over a competitors vehicle. I care about the individuals who drive the cars. Although, your right, not everyone does.

    For everyone complaining about why any parent would buy their teen this car. Most teen's share a car with their parents, I had to borrow my parent's car til i could afford to buy my own which wasn't until I was 17.

    I think the car looks great. Most new cars are attractive. Anyone who calls this car awful looking must be extremely picky and hard to please.

    Kids these days are being so sheltered from life it's rediculous. What happened to life experience and learning from mistakes? This is what's slowly killing us, everyone's going to be a damn robot soon.

    And what if the teen is chaised by gangsters? still 75mph though

  • 8 жыл бұрын

    +Forest Noise The car won't actually limit the top speed, it will just give the parents a notification letting them know that their son/daughter is driving past the previously set limit speed. And by the way; it's "chased".

    Its not just the Malibu we teens will hate. its all Chevy's possibly soon all GM's for having that tech standard. I know right now that there are more Chevy's with the same tech. 2018 Chevrolet Traverse has it. the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze has it and there are a few more with it on it.

    +Darren Persad ABS will pump the brakes 15 or more times a second. There is no way a person can pump that fast. I truly think you don't understand the concept of ABS.
