The last frame at end of post.....F'n Priceless !! The "Bull Dog" has transitioned from driving , to owner/crew cheif, well. Let us take note that life is a journey. We, make it happen, not misfortunes. Thanks for the positive influence Kevin. Big Props💪

Hey guys- Thanks for the videos. Apologies for off topic, but Alex Bowman's injury sustained during his accident at 34 last night reminded me that a sprint car landing square on its rear with no suspension is still a very real problem. I'm not a chassis builder, but I would love to know why they've chosen to do nothing. How about a rigid spring or an airbag (deployed with impact) underneath the driver's seat that absorbs the impact instead of a driver's spine? I'm not talking about an "air ride system," but something only noticed by the driver during a crash. In the past two years at least three well-known names in sprint car racing have had broken vertebrae and nothing's being done about it.

Great drivers die every year in sprint cars, nothing is changing, I wish it would.

A lot of it has to do with the upright driver position. Any impact from landing on all four gets sent straight up the spine. I just can't see how this can be changed though, there isn't really any room to move anything around.

It's a 1500 lb 900 horsepower car launching in the air at 100 +mph. Don't think there's many suspensions that are designed for that kind of impact.

Most of the drivers that get killed are from head injuries, the halo area is too weak, there is a test of a sprint car chassis being crushed from the top and it’s horrific to watch. It’s here on KZread do a search.

@@daeclipse03 I get it. Racing, especially sprint car racing, is inherently dangerous. But I'm not talking about suspension improvements. I'm talking about seat technology. WoO has mandated fire suppression systems. They've upped the weight limit in recent years. Helmets are better. There's tethers for parts. Etc. Etc. Point is, other safety improvements have been made but this issue has been ignored for too long. The answer could be as simple as an downward impact airbag in the seat cushion. Or rigid springs where the seat mounts to the frame. No one else in this space seems to have any ideas?

A good night. In one piece and more knowledge to boot. One thing about Kevin is, run it hard but let's not tear it up just for a win. Picking one's battles does not always win the war but, sensible decision making along tne way allows for a cleaner approach to end results. I haven't found where that money tree grows yet.....
