Just unbelievable! 35 plus years later I'm watching Sammy Swindel still doing it. I'm thinking Wayne country Speedway when I was 14 in 85 was first time with Blaney, Danny Smith, Kinser and all the legends ...... Inspiring man, just inspiring

My favorite part of all these videos is you guys discussing what the car is doing and talking about what you could change on the car to make it right, I never really got to have that experience with anyone growing up and its nice to just sit and listen.

41 deserved it. It looked like he was headed to the pits with a jerky move like that. That was no slip. It was a total jerk to the left while in traffic. Smart. SMH

Idiot

I know Sammy from the Chili Bowl. He is a very smooth driver. When he enters a race, the other competitors watch him very closely. Many of them will imitate his path way through the race.

@@northface484 No doubt he is or at least he was. I was a witness to him nailing Wolfgang squarely in the tail tank at I-70 on the last lap to take a come-from-the-back win. Doug still talks about that one and it clearly still pisses him off. Wolfgang was in Weikert's 29 car and Sammy in his black TMC sponsored #1 car.(to the best of my recollection) Sammy had all kinds of problems that night including an engine change after his heat (or after hot laps) and a flat front tire early in the feature. I think he may have had two flats but I just don't remember. I think for some reason he might have started tailback as well. Anyway, he came from the back with hardly any laps left to catch Wolfie in the middle of 3 and 4. Rather than just pass him cleanly like he could have instead he nailed him squarely in the rear. This was on the last corner of the last lap where he caused Doug to bobble just enough to get by to take the checkers. He got a thunderous roaring of boos from the crowd for that one. After all, who didn't like Doug Wolfgang? Fast forward. Doug was at the Knoxville HoF signing autographs outside his motor home his first time back to the nationals after getting burned. I was next in line and happened to be wearing a Sammy shirt that day. As soon as it was my turn he looked up, saw my shirt, and went straight in to his motor home abruptly ending the session. I always assumed it was my shirt that triggered him and nothing can change my mind on that one. Lol Usually the difference between giving the finger and just pointing at someone is the infraction. Edited: Dirty Driving... Wolfgang was the cleanest Steve was the most obvious Sammy was the most discrete

Too bad the mouth breathers here don't understand that Sammy can still flat foot the car entirely around the track,,, only a real outlaw does that!

Apparently he doesn't realize that he can get hurt out there and I'm coming from a age point of view not trying to disrespect but it's the plane facts that your body becomes brittle and less forgiving when placed in a negative g-force environment he's one of the all time greatest sprint car drivers out there and it would be tragic if he had the fast stop but that's my point of view and I guess everyone goes out on their own terms all we can do is cross are fingers and hope but that speed is very unforgiving and there's a long list of guys that proved it
