Because most Americans know Jan 6 was not an insurrection. It was concerned citizens protesting and making their voices heard that there was very suspicious things happening with the vote. Like mail in voting being untested in a major election and laws being changed right before the election to accept votes that weren't dated and had no signatures and having the vote certified before these questions could even be explored.

Yes, I know that's what Trump has been doing for four years, but my question was "What sense does it make...?" Trump and sense don't belong in the same sentence. The whole point of Trump is to discard sense, so he will be allowed to do whatever he wants to benefit himself. The fundamental reason his supporters support him, after you blow away the smokescreens, is that they want to be able to do whatever they want to people they disagree with or don't like too, so sure as they are that they are always right and anyone who is different from or disagrees with them is always bad. What they mistakenly assume is that they will never be on the receiving end themselves, a society like they imagine North Korea's to be. They're on the side of Dear Leader, and so Dear Leader will protect them. What they don't understand is that while they may represent close to 50% of adults in America now, a totalitarian government ends up being badly run, because the whole purpose is to benefit and please the leader, as is the case in North Korea, resulting in only 10% or fewer of the people actually living decent lives, not 50%. Sadly, once you have a totalitarian government in place, you don't need 50% of the people to subjugate the other 50%, 10% can subjugate the other 90%, including the 40% no longer needed to keep Dear Leader in power.. That's where we'd be heading under Trump.

Didn’t they just uncover election issues in Georgia? Can we just switch to voter I’d, voter registration and in person voting? Let’s take the guesswork out of it and ensure we have paper ballots to backup voting machines.

How much more proof do you need than the last one? There wasn't one bit of evidence that any significant fraud took place. There were paper ballots for every vote and numerous recounts of those votes in swing states. The only possibility I can see is to take a system we have in the UK of having a Public Inquiry. It is similar to a court case but any interested party can make a submission or bring evidence and the objective is to find the truth. They're often held after major disasters or in planning applications that have a huge impact such as a major extension of an airport.
