    As a Canadian, I can say that the first dish can simply not be called poutine. It’s Korean Loaded Fries. Poutine must have cheese curds and gravy.

    Anyone who thinks it's ok to call this a poutine gives zero fux about food. Why not just call it a sundae or a freaking pizza? It is as close to either of those as this is to a poutine. It appears you don't care at all about a recipe and it's origin. This guy needs to drive a couple hours north from Chicago and take a little lesson up there.

    @@vanfamilies1562 I think you are being a little precious...what is a poutine? For me it's a base of fries topped with cheese curds and a meat based gravy. This dish replaces the curds with grated cheese and the meat gravy with just meat. Not a traditional poutine but it's not like they replaced the cheese curds with pineapple or the meat gravy with marshmallows. It's a dish which is definitely inspired by a poutine...its only called a poutine for ease of reference...I dont think you need to get your knickers in a twist about it!

  • @vanfamilies1562

    @vanfamilies1562

    @@randyschwaggins yeah sure. Replace all but one of the ingredient and still call it the same thing. You have not clue what makes it a poutine. How about replace dough with fries and sauce with meat and we can call it a pizza! Or replace a cone with potatoes, soft serve with cheese and sprinkles with short ribs and call it a sundae? What about nachos? How about a sloppy joe? Perhaps enchiladas? Spaghetti Bolognese? Maybe let's call it a cheese steak? Oh I know! Let's call it fish and chips! It's all of those things right? Any dish with carbs, dairy and some topping is a poutine now? Because you're just being creative, right? It's idiotic. There are lots of ways to put a twist on a poutine but this isn't one. It's a very specific dish with at least 3 simple ingredients. Changing most of them it then becomes something else. That is a pretty lenient perspective. Nothing precious about it nor is it a difficult concept. You can call it what you want and the rest of us will call it wrong. We can all agree on that. Let's see if you manage to untwist out of your tighty whities and squeak out yet another pointless reply.
