Joe Rogan might be famous but he is the real deal. nothing fake about him. he isn't interested in being seen as a hero in front of cameras and be and asshole behind the cameras. besides, he isn't really a celebrity. not a popstar singer or especially and actor. actors are paid to play a role in front of a camera. they are the definition of fake. Joe Rogan is what? a average comedian, a UFC commentator and podcast show host. not a celebrity in my eyes.

I don’t think they are being hypocritical. Shapiro is famous for his politics and speaking ability, not his acting and looks. Rogan does not try to give off the impression of an intellectual and mostly just asks layman questions of experts/talks about what animal species would win fights. Not really the the types of celebrities whose fame is misconstrued as authority.

@@mr.anderson9938 No different than Taylor swift lol. Shapiro has open discussions and debates demolishing people because he critically thinks, researches and knows the facts about different things. He doesn't sing to entertain people with meaningless entertainment. Rogan critically thinks as well, he talks to many experts in many fields on his podcast, challenges his beliefs and changes and admits if he is wrong about things. They are also older and with critical thinking and a willingness to seek truth and facts your opinions and beliefs become refined overtime. I'd say that's a huge difference LOL.

Look, generally speaking it takes talent and ability to become prominent in a field. So to some degree, the halo effect is legitimate. The only time it's a problem is when it goes too far and we think that someone, just because they're good at acting, is also a political scientist, for example. Or when someone who isn't all that able manages to get to the top through manipulation and we give them undue praise. But generally, the people who succeed SHOULD be regarded as impressive.

There is a certain amount of quality behind good actors and they deserve some credit but I think it goes to their heads when they start reading their own press. Take the Mook, for example, he's a really good actor but that doesn't make him an authority when it comes to politics. And he proves it every time he opens his pie-hole.

These Evolutionaries epistemological claims are so silly. They also completely throw a wrench in the modern ideas of equality and value in all human life. Starting with a basis of Trinitarian theology and understanding the hierarchical nature of not only the heavenly hosts but also the body of the church is a much better account for this phenomenon. As well as understanding man’s historical trend towards idolatry and our need for the Saints as well
