Ole is a legend. Period. 126 goals for us with many of them being crucial late winners in close title races etc. Then he took us from the mess Jose left us in to second, which was the best league finish since Fergie, plus the first back to back top four. He fell over at the last hurdle and could not reach the next level sadly, but he made a decent go of it (I think his idealism over pragmatism was one reason for his undoing BTW, e.g., the 'MUFC way' wanting to play attacking football when the squad was not quite ready to). I have supported this club since the 1970s and had to wait two and a half decades for a title. Then we won more than I could have ever dreamed of. Ole will always be one of the top legends of that time as far as I am concerned. He gave us about 25 years of his life. I am grateful for that and have nothing but respect for the man. Then he fronted up for an interview on sacking day instead of going into hiding like the last two. He's all class.

The fact that Carrick decided to dedicate the victory to Ole is a sign of how Man United doesn't have a vision for their future and is still holding on to the past. Ole is gone. There is no time for being sentimental even if he is a club legend. They should be thinking about the future and how to save the season.
