Worst BBQ fail was using some new untested ratchet straps to tie my 600+ lb tall, top heavy gravity smoker onto my trailer. Went over a bump pulling out of the parking lot, the straps came loose and smoker fell into the back of my 4Runner totaling the back end. Surprisingly other than a bent hinge for the door, some bent latches, and some cosmetic damage to the paint the smoker was just fine. I was supposed to cook 4 big prime rib roasts for an event that I was going to that weekend. Ended up having to cram all 4 of them onto my pellet grill at home. Missed most of the event, but managed to get the food there and it turned out pretty good, but that was an expensive fail for sure.
