This is why I love you and I've been following you for SO LONG! On Twitter these days and social media in general "black feminists" get such a bad rap from a lot of patriarchal figures in the conscious community. This video is proof FOREVER that it is possible to be a black feminist and still agree with conscious views. Black Feminism is not a road block to black liberation, it's simply another group merging onto the highway seeking to be liberated as well, which I have always believed. I love you! Thank you! Please continue to crank out quality content for us! 🙌🏾🙏🏾

    1. Black men simultaneously do not fill traditional masculine roles _and_ make up an oppressive patriarchy within a matriarchy, where black women have stepped up because black men are absent? 2. Is there a black patriarchy that confers privilege onto black boys/men? If there is such a thing, why does it coexist with a black matriarchy? Why doesn't the matriarchy confer privilege onto girls/women? Is the matriarchy succeeding? 3. If not for the government, would matriarchal black communities survive? Is not the government a surrogate for the absent black patriarch? 4. Does black feminism encourage women to take up the trades that are responsible for building and maintaining a society? Or does it focus on getting black women into nice white collar office jobs?

When i was younger i didn't see anything wrong with black feminism. BUT as i got older and started to engage in relationship's i seen how harmful "feminism" is. Feminism as a movement is just a fancy word for "women who want men to self emasculate in order for them to compete, have control of or otherwise have say so in a male dominate field.". Women whom engage in Feminism generally CHALLENGE MEN on grounds that they have ZERO business even stepping on......then cry sexism once the man refuses to weaken himself for advantage of the woman and determine of himself. Women who agitate men and a fight ensue ARE NOT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS. They are women who are antagonists and want to keep the right to antagonize without ramifications. A relationship isn't equal because I'm not equal to a woman physically PERIOD. Bottom line is that Blackwomen have been behaving as Feminist and that's what's wrong with our community's the women don't know the lane they should be in. That's why i don't give a damn about a woman loud talking a man and getting slapped because THAT'S WHAT MEN GET ALSO. EQUAL RIGHTS ...and lefts!

Great video Mrs. Kimberley, you are on point. However, as a black man I find it very intimidating even afraid to approach your brand of feminism, without a testicular fortitude. Although you are correct. However, no week man can hold a conversation with today's feminist. Men are conflicted because any fortitude we have is based on a patriarchy that demands we give our lives for our family, especially our women! I see bell hooks, "Ain't I a woman" on your reading list, thank you. I believe It is the best book next to Michele Wallace "Black Macho and the Myth of the Super woman". I'm convinced bell hooks and Michele Wallace loves black men for being men, I'm not too sure of the current wave of feminism.

Although this is revolutionary, we should be careful not to repeat the same mistakes of fighting each other. Racism and sexism are byproducts of greed, not the other way around.

something you can't teach any feminist, accountability. Until women start realizing that most of the plight you go through is brought on by yourself. There's no evil patriarchy that's attempting to keep you barefoot and pregnant. Most men are not afraid or concerned with feminist we have bigger problems than the gender debate. Most of the "problems" women face is the competitive nature of this society in a capitalist system. That's why a lot of feminist are also socialist. They want equality with men(understandable), but also seem to want to be treated like queens and princesses and catered to. Sorry, I can either treat you as a queen or compete with you like a man.

    1. Ask 5 BM what is a feminist, and you will get 5 different answers. 2. It has been said by some White feminist that it was the BW who really started the Feminist movement. 3. Ask BM why they think BW joined the feminist movement. Most of them are telling us why they think we joined it. I've never seen any of them step back and let the Black feminist tell their story. 4. You're smart. The average BM ranting against feminism isn't following your thinking. He can't. It's intellectual. All he knows is power over the BW is the only power he has, and he doesn't want that power messed with.

I agree, completely, with this part that she says, about women, they are deemed as lower than men, in most cultures, but black women in particular, because of the whole aryan thing, were, are still, being shoved down that lower step on the totem, and this, in turn taught some of them to rise and teach their young they DO have a self, and ARE valuable individuals, despite what history has programmed them with

May I say if you take away "BLACK FEMINISM " and replace it with "HUMAN RIGHTS " then maybe just maybe it wouldn't be so much backlash if the soul purpose of this is to have rights for all because we are humans first before we're any thing else

Black men are at the top of the Black pecking order? How so? This is new to me. Simply put, femininity is void without masculinity to coexist with. Black women need Black men. It's a privilege for a Black woman to have a Black man to call her own. It's the same with the Black men and woman. It's a privilege for him to have a Black woman of his own. We must work together to build back our communities, because we can't do it alone. Without Black femininity, Black masculinity is dead. Without Black masculinity, Black femininity is dead.

I can get race matters... i can also get that gender matters.. i can also get that i race matter and gender matter.. and there's a system that is unfair to both black men and women.. that black women can easily be on the lowest end. But with all that said, i haven't heard too much about black feminist or how they're the enemy.
