    Whoa!!!! I started installing shrink tubing on the QAD launcher prongs 10 years ago. I believe I was the first one to do that. Glad to see how far that little trick has gone!!! I was also the first one to take a Dremel tool with a sanding drum to the V notch of the launcher and grind it down 1/8" to get my arrows to line up better with the Berger holes on my Bowtech Destroyer 350s (I have 2 of them), and get better clearance from the capture bar to my Blazer cock vane on my arrows. This was well before QAD came out with the LW1 launcher.

    I have learned so much by watching you. And listen to wait you have to say. I have been into archery all my life but got heavy into it the last 5 years. Shooting a bow is one of the best sports you can do and hunting is awesome . I only bow hunt i do not gun hunt at all. Bows are to much fun.

    Been making my own strings and cables for almost 8 years now using 452X string material and Halo end and center serving. Found the perfect number of strands for the bowstring with the perfect diameter center serving to allow the arrow nock to *just* snap on and then pop off with a slight tap on the string.

    Bowtechs factory strings have 2 little rubber speed nocks I love how how easy it is to set nock height with them i wish all string companies used them

    I like to do 6 on the bottom and 3 on top for your nocking points ,then when you hook your release on the d loop your pulling more in the center of the d loop.

    I wish I could show you my d-loop method John. It works amazing and distributes the weight of the footprint evenly. Stays tight and never causes separation. Its an outside tied version. Ive done alot of testing and it doesnt change impact either. I just move the pulling part of the d-loop to the outside instead of the inside. No-cares but what a gem.

    Man I am glad you mentioned the rest placement because I have been getting so frustrated with trying to get some of these arrow rest to work on these new bows. I'm happy to know I'm not crazy.

    Here’s a little tip once you have your d loop exactly the length you like it ,measure and cut a bunch of them the same length and burn both ends.it might be a little harder to tie the shorter d loop on there but atleast you know the d loop will be very close to the draw length you like.

    John, I always enjoy watching your builds. This was was very good to watch! You added a little more detail in your explanations and it made it exceptional. The only thing I struggle with is 90% of the guys out there who are going to do that center serving are going to do it wrong and be adding and trapping twist under there string like that. There is a proper direction to serve and tricks you ah e to learn to do it right. To get that serving on there properly I take the string off. Have it in a string jig under and appropriate tension. And serve tight. With power grip. You can get it “okay” on the bow in a pinch. But I don’t think having Joe bow hunter serving on the bow in a non emergency situation like that is just going to lead to frustration for them. Beiter makes one of the best serving jigs that keeps its tension and you can make a jig using unistrut. And put the string under proper tension and serve it like it should be. I do agree. Most serving. Sucks. Especially from manufactures strings. If you guys want to know how. Go look up automan on KZread here. And follow his instructions. Don’t forget guys. Set draw length and timing First! Get bow in spec and to YOUR spec.. Then set peep and alignment. Then do the D loop. 🤟🏻 or you will be retying or trying to twist the loop around to re align it for proper peep orientation.

    Awesome video, I love the setup vids. When lifting the rest a bit higher for clearance, do you find the nocking point is also a bit higher than centre? If so do you need to change timing to suit? You're the best mate!

    You can email us at info@nockonarchery.com That can happen sometimes with the dovetail gets super fine dust it. I wipe that off when that starts. This is similar to what happens when a limb pocket gets dry and has fine dust in it and makes it creek. Sometimes a touch of wax can help too

    Is this order of nock points, d-loop, then peep the way you always do it? I’ve noticed that my peep getting in the right spot will turn my d-loop if previously tied. Thanks!

    What do you think about gas string? I got the all white because I heard it didn't stretch but, I had to take it back because of my peep twist. Is that normal or I was just expecting too much . Thanks love your channel here in south Georgia

  • @eclipsearchery9387

    @eclipsearchery9387

    11 ай бұрын

    I make my own strings - no it is not normal. You should shoot about 50 arrows before putting the peep in to allow the string to 'settle'. Then fit the peep, again shoot some arrows for another qsettling in period. After that adjust your peep to straight and it should stay there with no rotation. A lot of problems occur because people make adjustments but then don't shoot enough to 'bed in' the adjustments. Another tip when twisting the string to align peep is to only ever add twists to the string don't remove twists. When the amount of strings these companies have to make goes up...normally the quality goes down.

Things have really changed in just the last couple years. Feel like I have to re learn everything and I only just stopped shooting 3 years ago

    I laugh when they just eyeball the arrow at 90degrees. Take the time to level your bow and your arrow,and then it won’t hurt to move your rest up or down a little to fine tune it.and I’m just a rookie.
