why do bows mid 2000 to 2011 never need shims, very simple to line centershot and have bullet holes? todays crap slower bows, upto cant do speeds, need shimming cause they cant center cams anymore, cant do correct drawlengrhs anymore- adjustable cams lol so funny the inderstry is similar to the early 80s yet expect rediculous prices for downgraded gimmicky crap. 2015 had the last bow worth purchasing. bear i must admit have some interesting bows to consider. no other companies have anything worth considering, all gimmick crap, cant tune out of the box anymore, such a kick in the ass to purchasers

29inch, 500gr axis 12% foc, 302fps. people with slow bows, 420gr at 280fps tell me to go light im shooting to slow since my arrow is heavy to them. foc i found recently new arrow build, same weight but 6% higher foc, need 55m tape marking to hit 50m. why such a drop on target, equal weight doesnt seem to impact the same with foc change

This video is for me! I used the Nochon wrist strap tension release for almost a year and I could never seem to get the bow to fire at consitant tensions? Tension always seemed to slip and become impossible to fire? I thought maybe the tephlon is failing? Yes I know not to tighten it too much. Can you offer more tips on why the jaw seemed to always jam? When I get the tension just right the release works brilliantly but then jams again and i'm developing different kinds of target panic as a result. To hear you explain how the release is sensative to presure and that this requires a refined techneque makes so much sense!

I've been practicing this since I watched it a few weeks ago and it's helping a lot. I really don't like to let down, so sometimes I take another breath, reset my front shoulder, re align the peep and level and hold again. I think that's more relative for hunting situations where the deer moves and you have to wait for another opportunity.

No way you don't cancel the shot you stay in it and use that as an opportunity to focus extra hard and still make a good shot because a hunting situation won't allow you to let down your bow infront of a big buck.

It's easier for taller people to acquire their target faster. So you are saying draw, anchor, peep, acquire the target, THEN final breath, stabilize and start shot process?

Great video! Thanks! What arrow weight and FOC would you recommend for someone who is just target shooting and not hunting? I've only been shooting for about a year and I'm pulling 55lb, have a 28.5 inch draw length, and IBO of my bow is 325. By next year I'd like to be competing in field archery, up to 80 yards.

This is 101 pre-selling the product with anecdotal evidence. All broadheads do well with proper shot placement. Don’t fall for the marketing hype. If this head was so awesome why didn’t they show us controlled results through an elk or deer shoulder bone? Because there isn’t any folks. All talk. They show you what they want you to see/hear so you will buy.

I wonder, how good would this guy shoot if I handed him my old circa 1982 Martin Cougar 2 with Chck-it sight and XX-75 arrows. I don't want to shoot some $1,000+ setup. And that is why I'm looking for a Cougar or Jennings Arrowstar. bows that I once understood.

Great video, I have been looking for something like this. Relatively new to archery, 2 years, and still learning a lot. Got a site that had ability to adjust vertically. It has you site in at 20 and 60 yards. My current setup can’t get to 60. I’m a pretty short guy, 5’3” shooting 50 lbs, using a wrist release and was having a hard time understanding why I couldn’t get the site to 60. I think my issue is peep site to arrow. Thank you for helping to understand all of the variables that go into distance!

If you use the same bow for target/practice and hunting, is there an easy way to deal with changing the sight pins when you’re adjusting the draw weight? Or must you deal with re-sighting in each time?

Hello. Great video. Can you tell me what you are shooting grains per pd? Arrow total weight and bow poundage? Just curious what guys like yourself are shooting in general in regards to grains per pound. My current is 6.8 grains per pd ( 65pds weight with 444 grain FMJ with 100 grain) Thanks!

Well said Brotha……all too often I see these archers spending too much time tinkering with their equipment, and NOT putting enough reps in their range time. I always tell my students……it’s not how much you spend on high dollar equipment, or how much you tweak to get that elusive high score……its range time, conditioning, and form discipline. Your bow isn’t gonna shoot itself to get you victories. It’s WORK 😎🏹🏹🏹👍Thanks for sharing John 👍I referred my students to your content to put my point across to them 👍

Hemothorax vs Pneumothorax Both are equally lethal. With a thoracic puncture and air in and out, the other lung still colappses. Hemo-pneumo thorax is more lethal. So, arrow in or arrow out? I am calling BS.

What is the effective difference in changing the weight of the insert vs the tip? It seems either would have the same effect. Is there a reason to choose the insert (which can't easily be changed) over a tip change (trivial change)? I just got a dozen Sonic-KE from Nock-On and they came with 75/50 inserts, so trying to decide which way to go.

  • @jonathan_guerrero

Actually, the heavier the tip of the arrow the higher your foc will be. A higher foc will make the arrow nose dive faster. This was explained by Easton so I'm not making it up. I played around with some numbers and a 100 grain tip with a 50 grain insert gave me an foc of 14.1 A 125 grain tip with a 25 grain insert gave me 14.5 foc. Not a huge difference but to answer your question, it's not exactly the same thing.
