Does this solve all arrow weight arguments? (actual results)

Спорт

There is continual arguments on arrows weights and point weights and how they affect the arrow drop. In this video I show you what 25 grains of variation means to my personal set up and why the lighter arrow makes more sense for my application.

Over the years I’ve met a ton of people that have little to no concept of what you are explaining in this video. No idea of spine effects, arrow length, point weight etc. Gotta keep spreading the knowledge!👍👍

I’ve got to overwhelmingly disagree that most bowhunters/archers wouldn’t notice 12 inch point impact difference in shooting. That’s petrifying.

@Niko_410 if you can hold that good at 100yds to see the difference, then good for you 👍. 100 yards doesn't mean anything in a hunting situation and therefore nobody will see it!

What is the effective difference in changing the weight of the insert vs the tip? It seems either would have the same effect. Is there a reason to choose the insert (which can't easily be changed) over a tip change (trivial change)? I just got a dozen Sonic-KE from Nock-On and they came with 75/50 inserts, so trying to decide which way to go.

Actually, the heavier the tip of the arrow the higher your foc will be. A higher foc will make the arrow nose dive faster. This was explained by Easton so I'm not making it up. I played around with some numbers and a 100 grain tip with a 50 grain insert gave me an foc of 14.1 A 125 grain tip with a 25 grain insert gave me 14.5 foc. Not a huge difference but to answer your question, it's not exactly the same thing.

Hello. Great video. Can you tell me what you are shooting grains per pd? Arrow total weight and bow poundage? Just curious what guys like yourself are shooting in general in regards to grains per pound. My current is 6.8 grains per pd ( 65pds weight with 444 grain FMJ with 100 grain) Thanks!

I got the sonic ke. 27” long. 75 grain insert and 125 point weight. For a total weight of 474. Thinking of taking out the inserts and breaking off the 25 grain tip and keeping the 125 point weight because my broadheads that I’m gonna use this year are 125.

This is purely a “professional” trying to make a guy who uses math look bad or debunk him. Including the word argument in the title has Jack shot to do with MATH! Plus when you get paid by the industry and the people that spend time to teach reality. At a 100 yards no shit there will be more drop as somewhere along the line momentum gets worse. But if I had to lay a 100 out right now based on what I just watched, both these arrows total mass is under 500 and first one is a normal shop tune built for speed with a 100 point, then add the said number of grains to shot two. Both not worth a damn to kill anything at a 100 without the perfect hit……😆😂🙄🤪. Pretty good odds you will never get an answer! Let’s also ask what poundage that bow is at also…..it’s just a sucker punch, that’s all!!!!

He did though mention for "these summer time events" I myself mostly hunt moose with archery gear and will NEVER shoot an expandable and light weight arrows at them, have had too much success with 550 Plus and fixed blade broadheads

@@robertmyers7542 Did you even watch the video? He didn't suggest this is for hunting, though you could hunt with those weights. He also said the total arrow weights, and the point itself made the second arrow 25grain heavier. So at 100 yards it added 12" of additional drop with just those 25 grains, which is relevant for people at TAC events trying to add range. You just wrote some long rant and even Troy made sub 500 grain arrows for TAC events.

It's clear. I have arrows of 31 and 29 inches, but for some reason 29 arrows of the same weight fly higher than 31. That is, you can take 29 and add weight and they will fly the same as 31. This is no longer clear.
