Long time TFS fans will remember that they once had serious beef with Sabat over merchandising rights because Funimation shut down their merch booths a few times. TFS even had to make an apology video after one of them flew off the handle, I think it was Lani if I recall correctly. Sabat wanting to work together with them later in spite of this is nothing surprising. He is a manipulative sociopath, something that is a matter of historical fact backed up my large swaths of Funimation employees. It’s basically a common Sabat tactic to make you feel indebted to him because he has control issues. He probably realized that bullying TFS wasn’t a good look after their skyrocketing popularity and “changed his tune” to remain favorable in the public eye. Something he often does. Sean on the other hand is too dumb to be manipulative and often picks fights with others seemingly at random when he isn’t throwing tantrums or being a massive fucking creep.

His pride would not allow him to think fondly on an offspring that wasn't strong willed like himself. The fact that Trunks stood up for himself against Vegeta showed the Prince that his Bloodline would indeed be strong. Which raised his pride in Trunks a great deal.

TFS makes you realize how good, absurd and comical the Z series really was. The way the events play out with characters personalities exaggerated (especially with Trunks involved) makes you see that the mindset of these characters. Going to have go agree. This series kept the core dbz fans intrigued and engaged. They really held it down because for a while in like 2015-2016 (when I found this series) I thought dbz was dying.

Originally people wanted the "Oh I put a Hole in your Trunks" joke and it doesn't work

Trunks and Vegeta were both killed by villains that took away their families, their homes, and their hope, and in the same exact manner: death beam through the chest. And resurrected in the same manner with the same conditions ("Bring everyone killed by X back to life"). Like father, like son.

Vegeta trained for 2 years in between the 2 times trunks time traveled We don't know how much time has passed for trunks before he came back but it probably wasn't that much time

It's honestly my favorite line in the abridged series. Reaffirms Piccolo's status as Green Dad and shows he feels sorry for Trunks' shabby treatment.

@@Baamthe25th it was equally based on combat and martial arts, if not more. Especially by the time it reached DBZ or the Androids/cell saga specifically, it became almost 80+% fighting-based. I'm not saying it's only fighting, I'm saying that if DBZ was 3/4th fighting and rest humor, DBZA was 5/6 humor and rest action. So there's really no use in comparing the two, they can be considered to different genres tbh
