I agree!!!! I'll out fish anyone who is throwing those 1/4,3/8, ,1/2 oz jigs with any of my Finesse jigs. I've proved it many times from boat and even bank fishing. I use braid on all of my spinning gear and it has helped greatly.

Your preconceived notions are all wrong! A Texas rig does not necessarily have a slower fall than a jig. It's all in the weights you choose. I agree, the TX rig is more natural, because of the lack of skirt and weedguard. You can get a slower fall with a jig by downsizing It's weight or upsizing It's trailer. Also, you can get a fast fall (which I prefer) with a bigger (1oz) tungsten, (on a Hematoma Beaver or Perfection Pit Boss!) THE REASON jigs catch bigger bass is WATER DISPLACEMENT. The weight (and POSITIONING of weight), skirt, trailer, and weedguard all displace water in a VERY SIMILAR vibration to crawfish and frogs-two of Ol' Larry Largemouth's favorite foods. You should fish with more old timers. Old gray haired cats can LEARN YOU sump'n!
