Hello just an update on this video as it seems like I got portaled! Is that a word? In addition I messed up other things up in this video as well! (Who is returning and leaving). Thanks for the commenters for letting me know. Sorry for the mistake. But will run through them below to correct what I got wrong. Tionna Herron went in portal a few days ago and she is close to Amina Muhammad who has also now in the portal. As well, I get most of my information on who is returning and leaving info from WBB wbbblog.com/texas-womens-basketball-recruiting/ they had Shay Holle (listed as extra covid year in 2024-25 & Taylor Jones (listed as extra year). Both were not shown on 20245-25 roster. I believe this tweet confirms they are both returning twitter.com/Raoul_000/status/1778842216821113285 I should have looked at Holle's stats and seen she had only played 4 years. As well, I assume Taylor Jones has an extra year due to redshirt as she only played 9 games in 2021-22. looking forward to play them. The SEC is the best league in the nation with the best coaches. Brooks , Mulkey, Shafer, Yo, and Staley. If you make it out the SEC you will be tournament ready

SC is stack with veteran proven players that knows how to win big games. And with a Freshman class of Edward's ,Tac and McDaniel they have no worries sir

Yes, Texas will be really good next year. This begs the question: Does anyone know when the schedules will come out for next years games? It would be nice to know when Texas will play South Carolina, for example.

I do think SC should be worried about this coming season. I know it's only one player gone, but that one player is the only one on the team there is really nobody proven in place to take over for. The concern has to be that Cardoso's presence on defense and the offensive glass is sorely missed next year, and while the rest of the positions should all get better, the 5 is the big question mark. Will Tac be ready? She has freakish tools but is still an unproven freshman. Are Feagin and Watkins enough to take the lions share of minutes as undersized 5s? Can Sakima Walker make a jump? Maybe start shooting 3s which she showed flashes of at her previous stop? Will there be a transfer? Texas is getting better, Southern Cal is getting better, Notre Dame is getting better, UCLA is getting better and obviously UConn is building a superteam to rival South Carolina. Should be a super exciting season.

Tell us what they need to be worried about ,SC strength is their entire roster, not one player we saw that when Codoso missed 3 games including the uconn game and they still won easily . With a Freshman class of Tac ,Edward's and Madison McDaniel and coach Staley that team still loaded and should be even better. I'm not a SC fan just keeping 💯

@@rover7139 Yeah definitely still loaded and the favorite, but nobody else is standing still! I'm a South Carolina fan myself, but I don't think we're invincible and Cardoso did a lot for us.

I'm a UConn fan but Watkins is scary and Kitts is no slouch. With them at 4/5 and Feagin also at the 5 they can bring along their freshman class as they have been doing the last few years. Texas is looking good as well with Phelia added, and I don't know enough about the 3 guards LSU just added, for the sake of the game I hope the chaos there is finally over. While I tend to agree with Geno that all this movement could backfire with fans not being able to invest in players for their 4 year career, but it sure is making for an interesting offseason and keeping the discussions going.

TX are a very good team that is getting better too. They are kinda scary good. It would be interesting to see how they match up next season vs UCONN, LSU, and South Carolina. The players they acquired from the portal definitely makes them a lot better especially on the scoring front. Rory Harmon makes playing PG look so dam easy and seamless. I love her willingness to shoot too (Paige Bueckers)

AM is in the portal this morning, shame for Vic. She is a GREAT player.

Amina Muhammad entered the portal… but still Texas looks great next season in SEC. I don’t think they need a super star to win championship, like SC this year (Cardoso is the star but not as shine as Paige or Juju). Dawn and Vic will play regularly again. I really liked Vic when he brought Miss St to championship games 17-18 🎉

You forgot mention Taylor jones and I think the missing piece is them getting a 4/5 player maybe 2 in the portal

Schaefer got Miss St to the finals his 5th and 6th year. This will be his 5th year. Could do the same.

Texas has rori Harmon. Notre dame has Olivia miles. And UConn has Azzi fudd. Three teams in probably most top 5’s all have significant players with health question marks. Phelia makes Texas better. And I like the addition. I think UConn should have been in for her and missed the boat.

Not only is Azzi Fudd on the injury risk list, she is overrated. One game Azzi is hot and the next game cold [hot and cold player]. Also in big games she does not shine.

NC State too. You have Aziaha James (the girl Texas couldn’t defend) and Sanya Rivers. They also added a 6’6 girl who can shoot good threes and can play good defense. Then the star player coming in is baller (Zamareya Jones). She’s going to be like the Rori Harmon for Nc State.

Texas needs a couple of decent bigs as well. Screw SC. For what I hear, Coach Mulkey is loading up nicely. Coach Geno got a few people returning from injury plus Sarah Strong. Other teams, including Texas, will definitely get at that a.s!❤️

I really don’t think SC is worried about anyone out there, this undefeated, championship run was supposedly a rebuilding year and look how that ended for the rest of the country. They’ll only be better this upcoming season!!

Muhammad is in the portal and I do hate that because I loved her athleticism but she was not starting at center Taylor Jones is. Taylor was the starter last year but does have injury history. With the losses of the other bigs they’ll need to sign one or two from the portal. Beers would’ve been huge but they are too late to that party. If they can get a solid big though they are a serious Final 4 contender. FYI - You can’t do a video about Texas and not mention Shay Holle. She was their best defender last year and the glue to the team. She’s back for her 5th season and that is huge!! 😎🤘🏽

Shay holle got slammed by James. Dropped 27 points on her. Don’t sleep on Nc state. There also getting a good recruit that could make them (James and Jones) one of the best backcourts in the country. And they got a good portal transfer as well.

I wonder why Dawn going after Kiki for hopefully South Carolina ain't losing anybody from the portal

Injuries are the only thing that can derail South Carolina.

take your word for it as I watched more pac 12 last year. Hoping to get a VPN and watch big ten network this coming season. I am trying to catch up on games via you tube. From what I have seen on highlight she takes her shots more in the mid range , take players of dribble and then pull up jumper in key. if she is going to Texas - then she better play defence or Vic is going to get after her.

I've been watching Michigan and the B1G and I don't think Phelia is overrated. Apparently, neither does Vic Schaefer and he's been around the block a few times.
