    Helmets are cheap, funerals aren't. Helmets are replaceable, you are not. I can't recall how many times my life has been saved by a helmet. I've cracked, as in outright destroyed, two. Both times I was taken out by another skater, and both times laid out flat on my back. Both times I was very grateful it wasn't my skull. We're all aware they are uncomfortable and unsightly, but comfort and looking cool is no excuse to ignore your well-being. Take care of yourself, my friends. Protect your head.

    That was some brutal headbanging! I find the sweatsaver feature on my Triple 8 doesn't keep all the sweat out but does help with a significant amount. At least keeping some out of my eyes. And I'm with it being Inspin Soul or Half-Cab. Alley Oop would be going backwards.

    I have the Giro Quarter helmet. It’s light, low profile, and the protective padding is coated with a type of rubber film so it doesn’t get damaged when you bang it around on the group or throwing it into the back of your car. I also just started learning alley oop and Inspin souls this week. Love the content. Keep it coming!

    As i tell my kid " you head is worth more than a helmet" and i lead by example. I wont skate without one. Spend the extra money if you can , its worth it as alot of the cheaper ones are not multiple impact rated and that means if it saved your head once , its done its job and is destined for the bin as you dont want to try your luck on another big bash to the head for it to fail. Once again , your head is worth more than a helmet and i cant drive that home enough. You will get use to the weight , my last helmet was a sweat saver and im a wee little thing and after a while it just becomes part of what skating feels like but i handed my sweat saver on to a friend as cut off my dreads and my head shrank. Its a good helmet and saved me a few times on some bad falls. Im now giving the S1 lifer a go in as the size is more adjustable if i end up growing my dreads back and im now getting use to the feel of a diffent helmet all over again . You get that, just like getting use to a new board or skates.

    All valid points and I'm glad you're leading by example and most importantly keeping your kid safe. Keep in mind this video is over 4 years old. I use a different helmet now and advise people get something better than a Walmart helmet. Thanks for the comment.

    @@TwoQs hence my point of spending the extra money . The tony halk tripple 8 sweat saver is still up there as one of the earily obtained yet good quality skate helmets but when getting a sweat saver , not all are equal. Tripple 8 sell a certified and a non certifed versons. There is a diffents in price point but that price point diffents is justified and its always best to get a " skate certification " as anything thats just bike certified is only front impact rated but skate certification is front , rear and side impact rated. What are you using now helmet wise? So id you work out what that grind was called? You would have that nailed by now.

    I would call that trick a half cab soul. But The people of youtube have told me its an inspin soul. Alley oop soul is when you come at it forward and 180 into it so not that ;) I didn't even know the sweat saver helmet was meant to help with sweat(Makes sense though).. I feel like it makes it worse because the thick liner makes it hotter. Love the message though! and agree with the review! The helmets great.

    I think Triple 8's certified helmets are designed well for impacts but I couldn't get mine to fit. If I put the smaller pads in it was too loose, if I put the bigger pads in it was way too small. If I put the thicker pad in the back and smaller up front, the back would pinch the back of my head and the front would wobble. If I put the thicker pads in the front and thinner pads in the back then the back would wobble and the front would be crushing the center of my forehead and temples. I guess I need to shop around but there aren't any skate shops here. I still think they are designed well, it's just that I can't wear them.

  • @TwoQs

    @TwoQs

    Жыл бұрын

    That’s fair. It is tough reviewing things that you wear because ultimately we are all built differently. The helmet I’m currently using is the Gotham mips helmet by triple 8. It has a dial on the back to tighten the fit. You might find a helmet with that functionality helpful.
