Test Ride: Harley-Davidson V-Rod Muscle

I recently attended the International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach, CA and had the chance to do some Harley-Davidson test rides!!! I picked out a 2015 Harley-Davidson V-Rod Muscle for the test ride and had an epic time. Harley-Davidson motorcycles have a different feel than any other machine. They rumble, are laid back, and have am American feel. Check out the video and experience what it feels like to ride a Harley-Davidson V-Rod Muscle. Be sure to SUBSCRIBE!!!

I just purchased a 2016 V-Rod, been wanting one for years. I'm also waiting to get an '06 Kawi ZX-10R and recently sold my 08' ZX6r. Yes the Muscle will turn any corner even if you have to drift the rear wheel. The bike maneuvers and handles as good as the rider. The V-Rod is a "Power Cruiser" and it can move when you need it. To all who ride, "Ride hard, ride safe and watch out for the cager." - "I actually enjoy riding and am not trying to get there as fast as possible just to get it over with. My favorite times are when you can look around and actually feel like a part of where you are and forget about what you are trying to escape from." Revzilla Associate: Mike Clarke, “Eagle 2”

1:30 "...any motorsickle you want." lol Are you sure you're not American? Because, that's how many of us speak here in the Southern U.S. Seriously though, thanks for reviewing a Harley with an open mind. I used to scoff at Harley's too when all I looked at was specs, but now after owning a Sportster Roadster I'm ready to move up to this V-Rod with louder-than-stock pipes. I wouldn't mind owning a sport bike at the same time, but since I can only have one, I choose a Harley. It really delivers on experience without feeling the need to go 150mph, and if you ever get a chance to take a look at the innards, HD should stand for Heavy Duty as well. These bikes are heavy because the guts are made of really thick, bomb-proof metal. It makes up for SOME engineering shortcomings.

I love watching people ride a VRod for the first time :) Try the VRSCR Street Rod version for mid controls and easier turning.

People think the V-Rod can't turn. You can drift that 240 rear easily just by snapping the throttle. The same physics apply to all bikes, just roll on some throttle to lift the bike in the turn. Also the bike has a pretty stiff suspension especially riding solo. I weigh a buck 75 at 5'8 and love the forward controls.

I agree. You can run it hard around corners but you have to read the turn and throttle up hard! Cheers

Excellent video. Thanks for your honesty and information. I know Harley service is very pricey. Even an oil change. Maintenance is an issue for me. Even in sports car. Forget about the initial price. It is the M word, maintenance that gets you in 5 years or so.

Notice all those other riders had to be "mommied" around a course (selected road ride). Now notice that you were allowed to be an adult and go out on your own. That is one reason Harley has more loyalty. Think about it.... The gas filler neck is under the driver's seat. Like the Vmax and Goldwing the tank is under the seat.

The Vrod is not so american, the engine name is Revolution designed with Porsche, was the first water cooled engine used in a Harley bike, the fuel tank is not a fuel tank, it is a carbon fiber cover of the air cleaner filter, yes the air intake is in there!, the 5 gallon fuel tank is under the driver seat, also this bike dont shake like a rural piece of equipment.

Nice video but I am so tired of sport bike riders trying to compare a cruiser to a sport bike. It's a Harley V rod cruiser. It's not going to ride, feel or have the speed of a sport bike. It's not supposed to. Love the video though.

+Mal Reynolds I don't know what you ride. But I'm not hating on you and I ride a Harley XG750. Anyway, to correct you AGAIN, the V-Rod's direct competition are bikes like the Yamah VMAX and Ducati Diavel. All are great bikes. But the V-Rod is the lesser of the bunch in cost. Chill out Mal and ride what you ride. Stop hating on people who are different than you.

+Mal Reynolds every time I here "overpriced" I think of corporations moving companies to Mexico to save labor costs. All these people losing their jobs so you will by that reduced labor product. If you keep buying your foreign crap the only jobs will be selling foreign crap, food and fuel. Keep up the good work.

***** the government is a nice scape goat. It's also the fault of people who buy that crap. Yes, if you buy American products you get less products for the same price. Your children will benefit in the long run. I have chose to only buy foreign products if it is a necessity. I can't even buy HD clothes anymore. Cost of living does not tansfer globally, and China is being dishonest with their currency. Their Mafia style government is killing those people slowly. Some day hopefully we will get a president who will fix our trade issue. The problem with a revolution is I would be fighting half the people around me and the government officials. People are spoiled, and don't realize it. There are other motorcycles assembled in the US other than HD. But yes, I recently bought a Yamaha because there was no US product. Of course " IF " HD produces the "Livewire" maybe you could get an HD product your style, but electric.

So you pull onto E Shoreline Dr & split lanes at Shoreline Village Dr (1:53) punch it to 60 in a 40 zone then don't pay for parking at Queen Mary. Then when you leave QM (4:10) you punch it to 90 in a 50. You drive like a fool & give Harley riders a bad name.

I own 3 VR's, an 02 A, 06 Street Rod and a 14 NRS...then I bought a Duc Diavel. OMG, what a night and day difference this bike is over HD's best performing ride. The closest VR to it is my Street Rod that I added Ohlins and BST carbon fiber wheels, but even then the Diavel is so much better. Harley is garbage. It's a company going down the toilet faster than shit after 2.00 burrito night and they ain't coming back.

The engine isn't developed by Porsche, the engine was based off Harley's VR1000 race engine. Porsche had a bit of collaboration on the cooling and emissions systems, but the rest of that rig is all Harley. Look it up.
