This free dance is so symbolic, it basically shows what their 2014 FD could have been, the feeling is vaguely similar and the theme is all about finding each other after not being satisfied with their lives. The straight line lift is also somewhat similar to the 2014 one, and the costumes too, pink and blue. It's heartwarming really.

This magic is something no one can recreate, not even Gabriella and Guallime. Points and the actual connection formed with the audience are two separate things. You get to know this the way V/M enjoy and live there performances. Other ice dancers just performe their routines.

  • @edukid1984

I think a commentator said it best - V/M brings the kind of magic that Hollywood blockbusters like Titanic creates to the ice, while G/G's magic is more like those Oscar-winning love stories ala The English Patient. In that sense one could argue that V/M's performance has more mass appeal to the general audience.

Hi, yeah, sorry if I offended you there. As you can see by my calling this a "pair skating", you could probably guess I'm kinda just really new to this whole figure skating thing. This was my first video of an ice dancing pair and I guess I may or may not have gotten too excited or something because of the music or just the program in general. I can't really distinguish the "good" from the "bad" yet but I'm tryna get there, rest assured-- and yes, there may have been a fall but at least Moir got up as quick as he did to continue the program. Thanks for at least pointing out the flaws to me though !

MFD calling them my babies, is everything, they have always said ( MFD and Patrice) that since they competed against tessa and scott they took them under their wing, and never really saw them as rivals just as the future generation to lead Canada after their retirement, I feel like team Gadbois, is nothing like Team Canton, where you could clearly sense the favoritism, Team Gadbois has everyone's back equally and is SO nice to see that, hence why they are succeeding incredibly

I'm french, I love P/C but I prefer these two... I follow them since the beginning, I loved all their programs, especially Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Mahler N°5, Carmen and this one. Please, for the people who are following these two and who love them, stop saying that this is unfair. What would you say if we said the same for P/C? V/M have won with the same scores all this year, on every different competition, it is constant. They are better than before, they have a lot of experience, and P/C fans (of which I am too) will see that in a few years, P/C will have improved, and they will understand why they didn't win this year. I couldn't understand before this year why V/M lost against D/W in 2014, but i see this year that they have technically improve, and now I understand that their level was not enough before. I don't doubt that next year, it will be a great competition between these two couples. It's happy that P/C and V/M have rivals of their level, it makes the level of ice skating better. And again, I think that P/C's program was wonderful too.

agreed. i also thought it was unfair they lost to Davis and White in 2014 but after seeing Virtue and Moir in 2017, I think they took that loss and perfected what was already so great.

Amazing skate with a stumble (but NOT a fall) from Scott. The negative commenters don't realize Virtue/Moir short program win score gave them enough points to win the free dance, which they won 2nd. Overall combined score gave the final win. Look at Weaver/Poje came out 6th in short and free dance but combined score came out 4th overall in world's. Judges scores rule, fan perception is all relative, numbers matter.

This was one month ago. Let it go. Complain all you want but it still happened. I am not a "blind" fan that you seem to think i am from. The judges didn't deduct Yuzuru Hanyu for a fall when his knee hit the ice so in my eyes, if they aren't calling that a fall, then scotts shouldn't be considered a fall either. You may think VMs FD is dull and cheesy but i'm tired of seeing PCs same FD every season. Everyone has a preference for what they like better, that doesn't mean you have a right to ridicule me because you think my simple little comment about his fall is me saying that VM deserved to win. Get over yourself. I may like VM more but at least I don't go around and belittle the people who don't.

  • @GalacticTiger8

VM FDs since Umbrellas of Cherbourg... 2009 - Pink Floyd, 2010 - Mahler, 2011 - Hip Hip Chin Chin, 2012 - Funny Face, 2013 - Carmen... 2014 - Seasons, 2017 - Pilgrams... how exactly are those all the same? And again its a difference of opinion but considering you can differentiate PC "different" FDs so well I'm surprised you aren't able to differentiate VMs FDs. I loved 2010-2014 because EVERY TEAM did completely different FDs every season whereas 2015-present has basically been everyone doing a similar FD every season. And again you replied to my first comment as though you thought by me saying it wasn't a fall that VM deserved to win gold. I never said that and you like many internet fan trolls just assumed and went after me for it. VM returning doesn't make the category fall, it makes it better. If you don't like VM and them returning to the sport, stop going on their videos. You going onto their videos just shows me that you are either secretly a VM fan and don't want people to know it, or that you have absolutely no life and it makes you feel better about yourself to bash people you don't know over the internet.
