I mean, how hard can it be? Clean the glass, lay the tint, squeegee, and you're done right?
Boy there's a lot that can go wrong with each of those steps. Great tint starts with a great clean. Shaping and forming the tint to fit the glass comes next. Handling the tint when installation is crucial too; one crease in the film and that piece is toast (as well as your $$$ each time you mess up film). Oh, and if you get water everywhere... Your electronics might go bad.
Long story short, leave it to the pros.
