Tesla’s New Cybertruck Cyber Tent Base Camp Installation & Review (Is It Worth It?)

Ғылым және технология

I spent the $3,000 so you don't have to? The Tesla Cybertruck Basecamp Tent is insanely expensive. How hard is it to install? How hard is it to setup?
Is this a good tent to buy to go camping in? Why is it so expensive? And of course.. is it worth it and does it make your everyday life easier??
I saw it now comes with a hinge to remove the aero cover! Makes it much easier!

Typical High Tesla Accessory Price. At the very least it does seem well designed. But I'm always Skeptical about the durability of tents. One broken or ripped part can make them useless. So I hope it's durable.

That's about the urgliest so call truck in the whole world. It looks like the begining of my wooddencar when I was just starting to made the shape of a would be car back in high school in woodshop. It's a wooden block on wheels. It is so urgly it should not even be call an automobile. Dame Urgly!!!!!!!!!! Google the word "URGLY" and you see the picture of this thing. Sorry to say it, but only urgly people would love an urgly truck! It's like Elon, woke up one day, walked outside, step on a wooden block and go, " hey, I should put wheels on this wooden block and call it " Cyber Truck". This is what happens when Idealess people came up with ideas for a truck.

the manual air pump is absolutely laoghable. I don't know who designs these things, like the aero cover, but Tesla's attention to the details is sometimes embarrassingly bad.

Every truck owner should have a tent like this and for my Chevy avalanche, which is a hybrid and an alternate fuel vehicle. Does the ones for my vehicle cost like two to $300 but I was lucky to get one on eBay from Chevy/the manufacturer for $50. It was like a clearance type get rid of my stock because the Chevy avalanche is not made anymore> so I got lucky for the Cybertruck and for this amazing set up that’s inflated. You’re buying an initial run and so $3000. I can see why they’re charging it because it’s like new technology for a new vehicle but I would not pay more than a couple hundred. One of the reasons you said was for going out camping it’s easy to do quick and convenient for me. The number one reason was for bugging out. As I live like you on the West Coast, but up in the Pacific Northwest, I now have an option to throw in the truck if there’s ever a fire and you can’t find a hotel, I can park anywhere. Walmart parking lot put up the tent in there we go or wherever we’re allowed to do it , so something like this is very valuable. It’s like car insurance you hope to never use it unless you like camping.Lololol keep up the amazing and Hella jealous

Chris, earlier this year you made some beautiful videos about camping with connected tents to both the model X and model y . Those tents were much taller and more spacious. Do you think you would rather have this tent for the cyber truck or would you rather just have a large quick set up tent that you would keep in the back of the truck and sleep on the ground?

The Basecamp really is disappointing. As someone who has a lot of experience with roof top tents and camping, that is way too involved a setup and not remotely good enough features for the price. Far better featured/more convenient and comfortable roof top tents on the market for far less. So many missed opportunities too to take advantage of the CT itself. Love the CT itself but this is a miss from Tesla.

I'll be honest, I did not like the Cybertruck when I had a real chance to sit in one today while my MYP was getting winter/summer tire rotation service. The plastic all around the truck bed area, and under neath the rear area are all plastic. That is not going to age well! And the stainless panels, yeah, ok, bullet proof maybe but, so what?! Have you seen what is at all the corners attached to the stainless steel? - Plastic!? Come on. I want to like it, but this truck is NOT going to make it for 10 years! I am so disappointed!!

Way too expensive. I rather buy an independent tent (and for 3k, I can buy an amazing one) and set it up by the truck. What’s the point of having it attached when you can’t use the truck’s climate control to give you A/C or heater. Anyway, not worth the 3K. A company will come up with one just as good or better for half the price.
