Let's give the catcher some props for being the guy who has to catch these fast balls again and again dude is also a beast.

If he keeps up this pace, imagine what kind of money Paul Skenes will get when he becomes a free agent. The Pirates better keep him locked up as soon as they can.

It's not hate. The Pittsburgh Pirates will NEVER retain a star of any kind for any major MLB amount of money. It's the cheapo, revenue sharing, laugh to the bank Pirates' owner Bob "Nothing" that makes the Pirates a forever placeholder as nothing more than a rich man's toy. Right now, Skenes puts butts in seats, and Bobby Boy loves that. It's a bonus for him. It's not baseball. If I'm Skenes' agent, I am absolutely telling him this so he can be paid accordingly by a franchise that actually gives a damn.

To all those who hated on him saying “he’ll blow his arm out”, we’re gladly waiting on it. Ps if you watching his Form, he builds so much torque in his legs, waist and back that his arms just add to the pitch, they aren’t the main force behind his velocity. 13:01 So if he ever needs TJ, it’ll never end him for good.
@Chariercha
Ай бұрын
The arm is never the main force, power always comes from the legs. The problem is that the power generated puts an enormous amount of stress on the elbow.

The energy generated by the body still travels through the arm to the ball though so the UCL feels it regardless of which muscles are providing the energy.

This guy is incredible. But he needs to stay healthy. At 22 years old and pitching like this, he could be the next Cy Young. I haven’t seen a picture like this in years if ever. Five or six pitches that are unhittable good luck.
Seeing Livvy with Joe B will only amp him up more. #King
It's already nuts to average 100mph on your fastball, but the natural movement that Skenes generates just takes it to a whole other level.
my red flag is thinking i could do this after 7 years of not pitching, i love watching greatness

Very impressive, very. I’m just cautiously optimistic because we’ve seen so many power pitchers break down by their early 30s. I just don’t have confidence that the human arm can withstand the torque and stress from throwing that hard for 15-20 years without it breaking down. There’s limitations the human body can handle.

Strasberg had a nice career. Felt with some injuries. But still had a pretty good career. Even won a WS MVP.

I'm still feeling so pessimistic. I can see with these pitches that he's either going to blow his arm out, or the Pirates will just not pay him and let him walk like they always do.
This dude is nails
How long before the countless articles begin about where Skenes will land (Yankees, Dodgers, etc.) because he won’t stay in Pittsburgh. Not when he could earn $50 million per year elsewhere in a few years when he’s eligible for Free Agency and the Bucs are still a .500 at best with him there.
