Terrible Truck

Ойын-сауық

The plaintiff purchased a truck from the defendant, but it turned out to be a piece of junk, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant argues the truck passed inspection, and the plaintiff complained two months later about some rust.

There's probably half dozen cases like this a week on these court shows and the outcome is always the same. On a used car with no written warranty, it's an 'as is' purchase. If you like the vehicle, spend $100 and have a mechanic give it a quick once over.

The defendant took the truck down to get it inspected himself so he could make sure the check engine light wasn’t on while it was being inspected or he paid the inspector to pass it, because we all know that can be done. The plaintiff should’ve brought up the fact that the defendant should not have been allowed to decide where the truck was going to be inspected at, but he also should’ve had it inspected himself.

Bought my daughter a used PT cruiser and she drove it in high school and college. The engine light came on and my mechanic got it off. A year later it came on and he said, it has no effect on anything so she drove it like that for 2 years. She was moving to Brazil and I told her I would sell it and save the money for 2 years till she got back. Never had an issue with it in only had 102,000 miles. I told everyone about it. Guy buys it and says he might could fiddle with it and get it off. I sell as is. He calls me one week later and says he can't get it started. I said, you bought it as is. He slams the phone down. LOL oh well.

In that state it isn't as is, it's if it can pass inspection, the old man knew that if it continuously has problems it couldn't pass inspection. How many dealerships you know will go that bring your car in for inspection out of the kindness of their hearts and pay for it? I KNOW OF 0.

A Chevy Silverado is already a money-pit and one with 130k miles?? And no written warranty? We see these cases all of the time. I feel bad for the plaintiff but it's an as-is sale and he had no written warranty, Ugh.

Those older Chevy Silverado's from that timeframe (1999-2006) were GREAT trucks with reliable drivetrains all around, virtually anybody on the internet will tell you that lol - This particular one may have had issues or a hard life before the plaintiff bought it but they are "generally" some of the best workhorses you can buy for the money even today.

SMDH. THANK GOODNESS I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS W/ MY USED VEHICLE PURCHASES. GOOD CALL HOS FAULT

The defendant is a crook, $8,500 & the check engine light comes on the first day. I think he fixed it just enough to pass inspection & because he knows this law & was so quick to point it out that is why he took it to be inspected. This was a bad ruling

Stupid elitist garbage comment. Do your due diligence when purchasing something, new or used. Don't listen to people like Ahole here that never buy anything. Do your homework, know the law in your state, read before you sign. These are all way better tips than anyone Adrian has ever said.
