Couldn’t agree more. I first saw him on 28 days and have tuned into everything since, even if I don’t have a clue what it’s about lol

His role in inception is so understated (and underrated). The way he acted in the level 3 hospital scene was sublime and really, to me, made inception a movie about robert fischer’s tragic catharsis

Cillian is dropping the most vibed-out evenings on BBC Music 6 on Sundays. Curated to perfection.

So commited in what he makes..no lies, a different, rich, interesting and sometimes weird selection of music that won't leave you impassive. Besides he shows a little of his real person. I'm not surprised he is becoming so important in the cinema world after his long dedication but always been cautious

Oh, I actually think the Oscar is overrated - don't get me wrong, a lot of wonderful actors have won it. I think his incredible body of work speaks for itself. He has transcended the Oscar, IMO. Plus, he did a lot of great work where he would have won something besides an Oscar, like an Emmy or a Golden Globe. He did win the TV Choice Award for Peaky Blinders (which he was perfection in). Plus, there is the Oscar curse. Quite a number of actors' careers went down the tubes after winning the Oscar. I bet he doesn't even care about the Oscar anyway.

Cillian is very introspective and doesn't seem to enjoy the celebrity life and spotlight so this is the PERFECT guy to interview him, we love you Ali!

I think his sons probably put him off the haircuts he mentioned he didn't like the peaky blinders cut because they thought it was silly, so i could imagine anytime they watch their dad's work, they always take the piss out of his haircuts 😂

He should actually do more comedic roles, he was really funny in 'Intermission', 'Watching the Detectives' and 'Free Fire' - even though the characters were somewhat "serious".

Literally top 3 movies of all time for me

They barely mentioned it, but for me, "Sunshine" is the movie where I fell in love with Cillian Murphy as an actor. I had seen him in other roles before and found he had a very unique presence, but Sunshine really nailed it.

“Red Eye” is awesome. He is so intense and terrifying in that movie. And I actually like his hair and how it gets so easily messed up 😂

It's so easy to see why he's Nolan's go-to actor. They're very much alike in their understated manner of doing the best work possible without trying to boast or live up to their reputations. They share a kind of intimate privacy about their personal lives, even as they're excited and willing to talk about their work. But at the end of the day they're two gentlemen who do their best work without too much hype about it being their best work and let the final product speak for itself. They're almost like the same person in different roles; Chris is like if Cillian was a director, and Cillian is like Chris if he was an actor.

Too bad he didn't talk about Sunshine, that movie is etched forever into my mind

I love this man. Excellent actor, low-key, intense AF. Such a list of movies and performances he's made, it literally brings tears to my eyes I have to hold back every time I watch him come into the scene. Mad respect.

3:00 the fact that Nolan didn't just go the easy way and use CGI, but made a TILTING SET for just one scene shows what a legendary director he is.

I would still love to see him in a romantic role, like in an Austen adaptation or in a fantasy-romance.

Cillian Murphy is one of those actors who I’ve seen in plenty of films but he’s that captivating as an actor that I often forget that I’m watching him. 28 Days later is still one of my favourite films and I can’t help but wonder, even though he might be to ‘big’ for the role now what he might be like as Doctor Who.

The way he describes playing Tommy Shelby at the end gave me a nice chuckle 😂 He’s such an amazing actor, love to hear him reminisce about his work

I was not knowing his old movies that much and admired him more than ever now. Not only because of movies and acts, but also because of the way of living his life. He is a modest person despite of that fame and this makes him adorable in modern times.

a past movie of Cillian's that I'd heartily recommend to others, it's very underrated, is the thriller RED LIGHTS. He co-stars as the member of a team that's in the business of basically debunking psychics. Deniro, Sigourney Weaver, Elizabeth Olsen, just incredible cast. It didn't do much at the box office I think, but it's a very engrossing watch that really keeps you guessing.

The sigh when he turned around 🤣🤣🤣

i watched red eye with my parents when i was around 8 and i never forgot cillians face. i think the next movie i watched with him in it was inception but i immediately recognized who he was
